Selfridge's - London, 1942

Greetings, friends, and welcome to another Open Link!  I hope that those of you (in the Northern Hemisphere anyway) are enjoying your summer.  I think we have waited for it for a long time!  And I hope that those of you in the Southern Hemisphere are doing fine as well.

Besides writing poetry, I wonder if you are also doing some reading.  Undoubtedly we have all seen reading lists:  100 Books to Read in a Lifetime, 15 Books to Take to the Beach, 10 Best Fiction Books of 2014, New York Times Best Sellers, etc.

I thought it would be fun, here in Open Link, to compile our own list of dVerse Poets’ Interesting Reads.  So (if you are so inspired) when you enter the discussion today, why not share the title and author of a favorite book you’ve read recently.  I’m always looking for a good book, and I often times find friend recommendations valuable.  With our international group here, I thought this would be fun as well as inspiring!

So, let’s mention a book or two in conversation and then share poetry (old or new) with others today.  One poem per person, please!

What to do next, for those who are visiting for the first time:

  • Enter a link directly to your poem and your name by clicking Mr Linky below
  • There you will find links to other poets, and more will join during the next 33 hours
  • Read and comment on other poets’ poetry. We all go here in order to have our poems read
  • Promote your site and poetry you like on social media of your choice
  • Have fun
