Lillian here, back home in Boston after enjoying San Diego, California’s mild winter weather for 2+ months. What better homecoming than to host OLN today and dVerse LIVE on Saturday?
Open Link Night (OLN) at the dVerse pub means you’re invited to post one poem of your choosing on Mr. Linky below. There is no required form, prompt, or length;
OR
you may use today’s optional prompt which is to write an ekphrastic poem related to the image below. It is an Art Deco Vintage Woman Free Stock Photo in public domain.

New to dVerse? Need to be refreshed on the rules? Here’s what to do:
- Write one poem and post it to Mr. Linky below. It can be any poem of your choosing (no required form, length, or topic) OR it can be an ekphrastic poem related to the image posted above.
- Post the poem to your blog AND add the exact URL for your poem to Mr. Linky below.
- REMEMBER to either TAG dVerse in your post, or include a link at the end of your poem that leads readers back to dVerse (https://dversepoets.com).
I look forward to reading many poems at the pub today and tomorrow and hopefully, seeing many of you at our LIVE session on Saturday!
Hello everyong! Well, I’m a bit bleary eyed having been on a flight from San Diego to Boston that took most of the day yesterday….delayed with weather and then flight path adjusted to include upper Michigan and Canada to get to Boston! We arrived at 12:30 AM and then by the time we got home and in bed, it was 3:30 AM!!! Add to that jet lag with the 3 hour time difference and I”m a bit ragged. So making lots of different coffee drinks at the pub today….as well as the usual fare. AND I’ve brought some delicious Black Raspberry Chocolate Truffle Ice Cream to the pub, straight from out San Diego neighborhood ice cream store. It’s truly delicious!
Looking forward to lots of d’Verse poems today! AND hoping to see many of you at the LIVE session on Saturday….even if only to drop in for a bit!
ice cream yes please, that sounds amazing… we’re having unusually hot autumn weather down under here…
Good evening, I look forward to see you all live on Saturday… for today I just need something small and light.
Hmmm something small and light…a small gin and tonic? That’s always refreshing…and how about a small madeline cookie with it?
that sounds great.
We’re having January weather here, and so my poem.
Hot chocolate, please!
Hot chocolate coming right up….with miniature marshmallows on the side!
Is that EST the time in New York? I’m near Sydney and we call OUR time EST too lol…might be better to use that Universal Time thingy? Interested to join if it’s not middle of night here! Thanks
*Boston time sorry. Yah it looks like being 1AM here, but I am going out that night, so maybe I’ll still be up then
Hello Lillian! Fabulous image–I didn’t write to it, but it’s a great one for an ekphrastic challenge for sure. And that ice cream sounds amazing. Happy first day of Spring~
Nice to see you here, Jennifer!
Happy Spring Dear Poets! It was a gorgeous day here and I was able to get out and enjoy some Spring Equinox drumming.
Happy day of the equinox! I loved your poem today!
Hello Lillian and all!
Black raspberry chocolate truffle ice cream for me please! ❤️❤️
Coming right up. You will love it….it is truly delicious!
Okay my dear dVerse friends, I am stepping away from the pub until tomorrow late morning. Jet lag and exhaustion are causing my eyes to close in the middle of reading…..and I have an 8 AM dr. appointment tomorrow besides….so….as I always do, the key is under the plant to the left of the pub’s door. Let yourself in and have some delicious black raspberry chocolate truffle ice cream with a beverage of your choice. No payment necessary except leaving a poem with Mr. Linky. Do be sure to replace the key under the plant so others can find their way in. See you again tomorrow when I expect there to be MANY more poems@
AND hope to see you at dVerse LIVE on Saturday!
Different kinds of coffee sounds just right to me, though sweetness is not my thing unfortunately…though sounds good….
Good to see you here!
Thanks for hosting Lillian, I might have a go at the optional prompt tomorrow – and – see you live 🙂
Good to see you today, Paul…..now write some more about that kiss!!!
Hi Lill, welcome home and thank you for hosting. I’ve just linked up a recent poem, and I will see you tomorrow!
So good to see you and hear about Sylvia! 🙂
