There are words that I read that moves me to writing. The imagery & weaving of thoughts are superb that I find myself saying, I wish I had written that.
And I don’t have to go far in searching for the words. One benefit of joining a poetry community is that words abound when we link up. You can find your inspiration right here, interacting & reading the words of your fellow writers. When I am loss for themes, I read the prompts and challenges again. Pen a different response. Try my hand with another poetry form.
I find that if you give your words & time to read & encourage others, you will take back seeds & fire to write with renewed enthusiasm. We are spark & ink of each other’s pens. And if you find inspiration in another’s words, let them know and perhaps pen a poetic response in the comment section.
Welcome to OpenLinkNight, everyone. This is Grace hosting for today’s sharing of our words. In my part of the world, its snowing & bitterly cold. Come inside & feel the warmth.
If you are new here, let me tell you how it works:
- Write a poem and post it to your webpage.
- Click on the Mr. Linky button below and enter your name and direct url/web address to your poem
- There you will also find the list of those participating this week. You might want to refresh this occasionally or check back in as there are people joining over the next 33 hours.
- Read other poets that have linked. Let them know what you thought, how the poem moved you, what you think of their style, what caught your attention. Please don’t forget to return the favor of those who have visited and commented on your work.
- Encourage others to participate through social media, promote your own piece and others.
- Have fun meeting and engaging your fellow poets.
Happy Tuesday to everyone ~ Grace

It is great how we find inspiration in each others’ words. Everyone at dVerse has inspired me in some way or the other… words of some made me feel the crispness of language… some others provided me with an extraordinary image… someone’s words had me feel the beat of my heart.

In this poem I play with the Shakespeare quote from our discussion here yesterday–an exercise which always shows his superior artistry. Also, the discussion did/does for me what you, Grace, talk about above. Along with the poems here and the fantastic readers. I’ll come back tonight to read this book we are creating together.

How did you enter all of these addresses so fast? Thank you, Brian, and everyone keeping warm at the Pub while reading poetry. From my 2nd story writing nook, the snow flakes look big and thick as dandelion seed heads. I cannot even see the indentation from my earlier shoveling. The name of the storm is Janus. Someone had fun with that. I’m about to take a late afternoon nap. See you later.
brian miller said:
ha. all over it…
we are getting snow as well…much less than you but enough to get us out of school….
when did they start naming all the storms? used to be only hurricanes….

Wow, this might have been the most lively OLN on record; blizzards, frustrated poets clambering at the Pub door, my self being slammed into Spam 7 times; and then like magic, like fog or mist lifting, steaming, off the damp poetic, Mr. Linky showed up smiling, saying–all’s well that ends well; amen to that.

Trying to imagine what life might be like living in a wheel chair.
brian miller said:
it was an interesting look…was wondering if you were recently in a chair as it felt more like someone getting used to it…
fighting100spirit said:
Thanks for your comment, I do find this an inspiring and helpful site .
I have Parkinson’s disease and the disability comes and goes with the medication levels. I suppose I could have been imagining what it would be like to be paralyzed all the time. I am sure that wheel chair users have good times and bad times like all of us. I was trying to catch and express the feelings of the low.
brian miller said:
i think you got it…i imagine it harder if you have walked before and then find yourself in chair for the first time…i only know through others…and a few of those experiential activities they do in college in such where you have to be in a chair for the day…even then you know it will be over…a convenience those that are in a chair do not know…
brian miller said:
alright…to bed with me…be back in the morning to catch up with those visiting…
