Welcome dVersers to the final virtual meeting at the pub — BUT do drop by again on Saturday for our LIVE session from 10 to 11 AM New York time. That will indeed be our last opportunity to meet in 2024!
So today at the pub, I’m serving holiday fare….at least, the traditional sweets we have at our house during the Christmas season: my mother’s recipe for VERY thin sugar cookies; also her recipe for pecan tassies, another very yummy cookie. Also serving my chocolate mousse which uses Julia Child’s recipe – a favorite dessert on Christmas eve at our house. Beverage of your choice!
Ready for a holiday? It’s just around the corner….but for now, I’m looking forward to reading your posts….AND hopefully seeing you on Saturday!

Okay folks….time for me to do some Christmas wrapping here so leaving the pub till morning. BUT, as usualy, not to worry….I’ve left the key under the flower pot to the right of the door….come on in and help yourself to some holiday goodies and a beverage of your choice. Tips not needed – all I require is that you leave a post on Mr. Linky and make sure to replace the key under the pot so others can find their way in.

What am I? Chopped liver 😉 Really enjoyed the LIVE meeting today. Seeing and dialoguing with poets we read on screens elevates the poetry to a different place.

Even though Rob corroborated my sharing about shooting off guns on New Year’s Eve in Michigan, I just googled it and see they have coined it “celebratory gunfire.” Link to wiki article on it: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Celebratory_gunfire
It happens here, too, and firecrackers. I am not a fan of either! But guns especially. That’s just asking for trouble.
Like Rob said, here it is all year round now, and yes, asking for trouble. After the neighbors 2 doors down bought a lot. They are finally building a mansion there, but they’ve had a small trailer there for a couple of years. Shots go off at all hours of the night, and I am guessing they are shining deer.
