Quick ***ANNOUNCEMENT!***
Call for Poetry Submissions: Krisis: Poetry at the Crossroads // Be a part of an upcoming dVerse anthology in celebration of our 15th anniversary! Find more information here.

Greetings, wielders of wand-phrase and syllable-spell. De Jackson (aka WhimsyGizmo) here, to tell you the word for today’s Quadrille – my favorite prompt, when we pen poems of precisely 44 words including one word we here at dVerse provide.

Today, I want you to invoke some poetry magic by casting your poem with the word ENCHANT

Enchantment. Disenchanted. Enchantress. Enchantingly.
And if you’ve got a (p)enchant for playing with words, that’s more than welcome here! What would an “N” chant sound like? (Perhaps the word “No!” over and over again?) Write us a (tr)enchant poem, or simply an enchanting one. Just be sure it holds exactly 44 words, including some form of the word enchant. And since the word comes from incantare, to sing, you could even use the word in some song lyrics, if you choose.

A little poetical inspiration for your perusal:

Ralph Waldo Emerson

Venus and Adonis (a Shakespeare poem)

New to the Q? Here’s what to do:
Enchant us with your poem of exactly 44 words (not counting the title), using some form of the word enchant. Post your poem on your own blog, and link up using the Mr. Linky below. Then head out into the blogosphere to read and comment upon the spellbound poems your fellow wordsmiths have spilled. The Q is open all week, so be sure to come back and read (and write) some more!

I’ll leave you with some musical enchantment…
