Hello all,
Today it is time again for Open Link when you can post any one poem of your liking. Since this is also a live session we offer a true live session where you may read any poem (or the one you have linked up). If you have nothing ready to read you may join anyway and just listen in.
For anyone who prefers a miniprompt I also offer a miniprompt. I have taken the following poem/question from Pablo Neruda (as I prefer questions to answers)
Why do trees conceal
the splendor of their roots?
Pablo Neruda, Book of questions.
Also remember you can write to any prompts that you have missed from our gigantic back catalogue.
When you have written your poem with a link going back to dVerse, just add it to Mr Linky below. You can also take part in the discussion below, and remember to read and comment on the other poems.
The prompt stays open until Saturday 3 PM New York Time
As for the Live Session it is between 10 AM and 11 AM New York Time August 16th,just follow the link below to join and I will let you in.

Good evening, Bjorn and all!
It’s nice and breezy here with the hint of rain 😀 I will have Sourdough foccacia with olives please 🩷🩷
See you all on Saturday!
See you too… and I hope you like the bread.
The bread is delicious! Thank you 😊
thanks for hosting with such a tempting morsel from Neruda but I’d already written mine
Maybe a prompt to use at a later stage.
Hello Bjorn and All. It’s been a busy week so may not get to write to this, but I am going to try to make it to the LIVE session tomorrow.
Or maybe the day after tomorrow
Oops, I mean on SATURDAY
OpenLinkNight. I can post any poem I want?
Of course, the mini prompt is 100% optional
Excellent. I will post a link on the link thing now. 🙂
Bedtime here… I will get back tomorrow to read and respond…
I posted a small offering. I need chocolate. And a new watch.
Chocolate we have… but the only watches we have are some old lost and found
Greetings All ~ thanks Bjorn for hosting and the optional prompt! Could not resist going “all nonsense” ~ I will have a bit of everything you are serving, with a glass of pinot gris to accompany, please. Hope to make Saturday.
Of course… glad you like what I offer.
Oooo I love Foccacia!
This one is special since it is made from real sourdough
Yummy!
For once I am leaving a poem the same evening as the post going out – its one I posted, unprompted, a few days ago…
Your Mediterranean food sounds great Björn – do you have some Retsina to wash it down please?
Glad you had something…. I will get over and read soon, Retsina we have
Good Evening – the extra prompt fascinated me so I decided to play along. I needed a distraction as I spent the night in the ER with my mother.
Oh, I’m sorry to hear. I hope it goes welll with your mother… look forward to read your offering.
Hi to all! Thank you for hosting, Björn!
My pleasure… happy to see you
Hi! I’d love some baba ganoush (and recipe please!) I just happen to have some questions!!
I only have the recipe in Swedish.
but the simple way it goes is this
1. Roast 4 Auburgines (pricked with a knife) for 30 minutes in a hot oven
2. Juice from one lemon mixed with 4 tbsp Tahina and one clove of garlic.
3. Put the roasted Aubergines in a pot, close the lid and wait.
4. When the Aubergines has cooled off, peel them and save the meat.
5. Crush the meat and mix with the Tahina – lemon blend
6. Salt and pepper to taste.
Thank you for hosting us Bjorn 🙂
🙂
Björn, I have a poem I’d like to read tomorrow but it is 4 minutes long. Is that too long? Don’t want to take more than my share of time…Judy
I actually have a shorter poem to read…but it doesn’t have to be the one I posted this week, does it? See you in 3 hours.
So sorry I missed Live this morning … son Carl has Covid … I’ve been playing nurse all hours of the day, grabbing sleep whenever.
Sorry I missed the deadline 🙏🏼
Here’s my poem
