Hi everyone! Grace here hosting Open Link Night, which serves as an opportunity for us to link ONE poem of our choice for our reading pleasure. For those who missed the Mr Linky deadline the past week or this Tuesday’s poetics, this is also your opportunity to share your poem. We would appreciate those linking up to include a link to dVerse as a courtesy.
There is no specific form or theme required for OLN but if you are looking for a little inspiration, here is an optional mini prompt:
Eternidade’ by Ismael Nery is a surrealist painting that explores themes of eternity and time. The artwork combines abstract forms and symbolism to create a dreamlike scene that challenges the viewer’s perception of reality, common in Nery’s surrealist style.
The writing challenge:
1. Use the image above as a muse for your poem. Write an ekphrastic poem.
2. Or use the title of the image as a title or part of your poem: Eternity
If you are new to dVerse, here’s how to join in:
- Write one poem and post it to your blog.
- Enter your name and direct link to your poem into Mr. Linky.
- You will also find some other amazing poems! Please read and comment.
- Provide a link to dVerse so others can find us too.
- Drop in to say hello in our discussion below.
- Have fun!

Good evening… autumn is coming, and these few days we have had chilly mornings, and darkness come earlier and earlier… a cup of hot tea would be nice

Good to see you Melissa!
Hi everyone! I look forward to reading your poems. Am still out in Toronto, but will get to reading your poems in a bit.
Hi all~ I was intrigued by the artwork, Grace, so I looked up the artist. Fascinating work. I read his work is sometimes compared to Chagall which is interesting to me because I recently picked up a book on Chagall. Hope you all are having a wonderful day~
Hi Jennifer. Love when this happens – you reading the artist life too. Thanks for joining in and have a wonderful day!
Hi All ~ still in summertime mode here in Central Oregon ~~~ sitting outside on our deck, sunny with blue skies, nary a cloud in the sky. How about a large fresh lemonade today? Do you perchance have any oatmeal/raisin cookies too?
Thanks, Grace for the intriguing art ~ I enjoyed composing a poem around it.
Hi Helen. Happy to help your muse along the way. I am envious of your summertime mode in your city. A large fresh lemonade with a plate of oatmeal and raisin cookies coming your way. Have a great day!

Hello, dear Grace, and everybody. Spring is trying to happen, rather half-heartedly in my part of Australia, so nights and mornings are cool here too. I’m late to bed tonight, so how about a nice cup of cocoa to help send me off? (And I’ll come back and feast on everyone’s poems tomorrow.)
Hi Rosemary. How exciting to see the spring season. A nice cup of cocoa for you dear. Thanks for joining us.
