Come sit in on our LIVE (video and audio) session. Read aloud a poem of your choosing, join in the informal conversation OR simply sit in and listen. We always have people from around the globe, all speaking in English. In the past we’ve had folks from Sweden, Pakistan, the UK, Kenya, Trinidad Tobago, Australia, India, South Africa, and across the US. We’re a friendly bunch…..the more the merrier!

Today is Open Link Night (OLN) at dVerse, the virtual pub for poets around the globe. This means you’re invited to post ONE poem of your choosing on Mr. Linky below. There is no required form, prompt, or length;
OR
you may use today’s OPTIONAL PROMPT which has to do with graffiti or what some call street art. The images below are from a stay we had in Valparasio, Chile some years ago. If you choose the optional prompt, choose one of these images to motivate your creativity today.

Happy Open Link Night fellow dVersers! I expect many of you are enjoying NAPOWRIMO and getting your fill of creative writing and poetry these past 9 days! So today, stop in the pub and have some delicioius lemon bars (my specialty) and a beverage (alcoholic or nonalcoholic) of your choice. I have my bartender’s manual here and can rustle up any drink you desire by just looking in the index!

Thank you for thinking of me Lil, but with my health since you guys have changed that time to 7 o’clock in the morning, I just can’t do it. It’s too hard. maybe every other live version you know once a month could be a West Coast version. I don’t know if anybody else would care but I’d love that because I miss not participating with you guys. The 7 AM on Saturday morning just doesn’t work for me. If we keep the one East Coast we have now, then do one West coast each month two weeks later, we might gain some West Coast poets. -+ the East Coast people can certainly still participate even in the West Coast because it would only be 3 PM your time back there, but I don’t know just me thinking?
Stepping away from the pub for a bit. Will read again before I sleep….miles to go before I sleep….

hi lillian and everyone. we are really i. the thick of april now, i’ve got a bunch of stuff from the various prompt sources out there. or do i write on one of these artworks? they are quite colorful. hmm. could i have a manhattan please, to help me decide?

Hi Lillian! Thank you for the prompt. Maybe one to come back to. So many prompts and so many submission opportunities this month. It’s hard to keep up! I’m behind on reading everything. (Meanwhile, mumble, mumble, my mouth full of delicious lemon bars . . .)

Meanwhile Spring is finally arriving in Boston! I actually saw cheerful daffodils AND a happy bunny yesterday on my walk to the store!

Glad you like the images….I do love street art! The prompt will close tomorrow morning (Sunday morning). You have all day today and tonight to post to it. If you don’t have time….you can use the images for your poem and then post them to another OLN here at dVerse. We usually have at least 2 a month. When you use them, just indicate they are from L. Hallberg’s photo collection….Street Art in Chile.
