Lillian here, hosting the pub from Boston, where the autumn season is in full swing! We have many leaf-peepers stopping in the city on their way up into New England (Vermont, Maine) to see the glorious colors of the season. Nature surely does bedeck her trees!
Today is Open Link Night (OLN) at the dVerse pub. This means you’re invited to post one poem of your choosing on Mr. Linky below. There is no required form, prompt, or length;
OR
you may use today’s OPTIONAL PROMPT which is to write an ekphrastic poem related to one of the window images below (all from Pixabay.com and in public domain). You many also use a window image of your own choosing. The key for the optional prompt is there must be a window image for your ekphrastic poem.

New to dVerse? Need to be refreshed on the rules? Here’s what to do:
- Write ONE poem of your choosing (no required form, length, topic) OR ONE ekphrastic poem related to one of the window images above or your own window image. .
- Post the ONE poem to your blog AND add the exact URL for your poem to Mr. Linky below.
- REMEMBER to either TAG dVerse in your post, or include a link at the end of your poem that leads readers back to dVerse (https://dversepoets.com).
- If you do not TAG or include a link to dVerse at the end of your post, I will gently remind you to do so. After all, this will increase your readership and comments, and others will find dVerse and hopefully join in the fun. If you do not add the TAG or link after my reminder, I will remove your post from Mr. Linky. I do not want to do that! So please do include the TAG or link!
Greetings everyone! It’s a beautiful fall season here in Boston and a nice cool crisp day. On tap today at the pub are your favorite ales plus a pumpkin beer, pumpkin bars, and pumpkin spice lattes. I am the barista with the mosta in this autumnal season.
Looking forward to reading all your posts today and tomorrow!
Do recall….am still recovering from right shoulder surgery….so I can only type etc for so long at a time….but never fear, I’ll be reading and commenting on all your posts! Today, tomorrow too!
AND I hope to see many of you at our LIVE session….even if you only drop by to sit in!
So nice to link up today…. sometimes I think it makes sense to dig deep into my old poems which I did today…. look forward to see a lot of people tomorrow.
Good to see you here, Bjorn! Yes — hoping for a good turnout on Saturday!!
Good afternoon, Lill — I’ve set my pen (plume) down for an owlish poem. Hope you like it! I would love a pumpkin spice latte, please. Thanks for hosting! 🙂
Always happy to tend the pub! One pumpkin spice latte coming up…..will pop over now to read you post!
Hi Lillian and all–sorry I won’t be able to make it on Saturday. Thank you for hosting!
We’ll miss you, Merril. BUt glad you posted here today.
😊
Stepping away from the pub for a bit…..shall return in about 30 minutes! Let yourself in, help yourself to libations, and do leave a post for me to read when I return!
Hello Lillian and All. Good prompt idea for windows. Just linked up and out to do an errand. Will be back shortly to visit the poetry trail.
Glad you like the optional prompt and good to see you here, Lisa. Hope to see you on Saturday!
Thanks. I did my errands and then took a drive out along the lake. I will try to make it on Saturday 🙂
Hi Lillian! Hope you’re well. I am dragging a bit today so I would love an Oat Milk Cappuccino to perk me up 🙂
Oooooh, an oat milk cappuccino sounds good to me too! Coming right up!
Cheers Lillian and thank you! 😊
Just managed to type this up before hitting the sack, Lillian, so a nightcap would be lovely please and will make me sleep like a top – whatever that means…
A nightcap coming right up – perhaps a B&B?
Hi Lillian! 🙂 wonderful to see you. If health allows, I will join you. BTW, the google link appears not to be active? But what do I know
Rob: did you get an invite email from me to the LIVE session? When I click on folks’ responses and see the Join link, I click on it and it goes to the session….even though you’d have to wait until tomorrow morning!
Maybe the link on the prompt doesn’t go live until tomorrow AM?
Let me check on that.
Rob: the link goes live Saturday, October 25th at 10 AM! Hope you can join us!
Thank you for hosting Lillian, Hope that shoulder is on the mend?
It is indeed….but the hand and wrist (also immobilized in the sling for 6 weeks) get tired easily. PT every day. They say if takes a full year to come completely back from this kind of surgery. I’m hoping to break that norm:)
Hope to see you tomorrow morning at our LIVE session!
I will be there Lillian 😀
Lillian, thank you for hosting. I have been painting pictures of window views lately and your prompt gave me an opportunity to reflect on the concept of views inward and outward.
I would love to join in tomorrow but I doubt I will be able to get myself out of bed in time.
I truly appreciate this community every time I participate.
Ali
Good to see you here! You can join us any time between 10 and 11.
