Greetings, intrepid Poets! Sanaa here (aka adashofsunny) It’s time again for my favorite of all our prompts, the Quadrille. This tiny little nugget of a poem is an invention of dVerse’s own design: exactly 44 words, including one word that we provide.
The quadrille word for today is “CARE.”

Careful. Careless. Caring. Careworn.
Will your poems make a grand gesture, or just let somebody know that you care? Will you play with an invented word or meaning of your own?

Caretaker. Caregiver. Carefulness. Carelessness. Carer. Self-care.

Is the Quadrille new to you? Here’s what to do:
No need to panic! The Quadrille is really quite simple when you boil it down: pen us a poem of exactly 44 words, not counting the title. Include some form of the word “Care.”
Post your piece on your own blog and link here using the Mr. Linky icon below. The Quadrille prompt is open all week, so feel free to stop by anytime you like. Also, please remember to read and comment on your fellow poet’s work.

Hello all, welcome to Quadrille Monday
On the menu we have a variety of snacks. Rosemary & sea salt almonds with dry rosé, prosciutto-wrapped melon and mushroom crostini.
I’m adding chicken caesar wraps and cream cheese bagels to the list. We also have sweetheart cranberry scones with coffee/tea of your choice.
Let me know if I can get you anything else. Quadrille will be open all week! ❤️❤️
So many tasty things to chose from… but as usual it is getting late and i’m not too hungry… a glass or rose is perfect.
A glass of rose coming up! 🙂 Loved your quadrille, Bjorn ❤️❤️

Cheers!
Hello, Sanaa! I’ll take a chicken caesar wrap, please, and call it supper :). Thanks for hosting!
Hi Lynn, chicken caesar wrap coming right up! 😀
Good to see you! ❤️❤️
I take it the first poem is yours, Sanaa? I love love it.
Thanks Judy! ❤️❤️
Hello friends! And thank you for the excellent prompt, Sanaa! Could I please have a sparkling rosé, to compliment the two glasses I’ve had already? 😁 And, I hope that my counting of hyphenated words as a single one is acceptable… I have the requisite 44, but a couple are a joined-together word. (Joined-together would be an example of a single word in my poem, LOL)
Sparkling rosé for the lovely lady! Heading over to read you ❤️❤️
Thank you!
You’re most welcome ❤️❤️
Kim–mine is full of joined-together words. 😂
Merril, I’m so glad you commented here so that I could go find your poem. I thought I had read them all but I missed yours. It’s LOVELY! I love joined-togther words so much, because they’ve been twisted to create exactly the meaning you want.
Thank you very much, Kim! I just posted it this morning. I will look for yours soon.
That first snack sounds lovely. I’ll take it without the prosciutto, please, as I’m Vegan.
Apologies, what I am sharing is perhaps little more than doggerel – but my real, lived experience was very fresh in my mind when I saw the prompt, and some things are worth putting on record.
Rosemary & sea salt almonds coming right up! ❤️❤️
Heading over to read you 😀
Thanks for the prompt.
Glad you enjoyed the prompt, Judy! ❤️❤️
Late to the pub….very busy here with upcoming travel out of the country, managing errands, dr appointments, seeing family etc before we leave. Lovely prompt, Sanaa. I enjoyed writing for it. Will head over to do some reading now.
So glad you enjoyed the prompt, Lil! Heading over to read you ❤️❤️
Thank you for the prompt Sanaa, a delightful offering.
You’re most welcome, Paul! 😀
It’s lunchtime (for me) and what’s on the menu sounds delicious, Sanaa! ❤
Just an FYI, my links/posts are on Substack now as I’m not currently posting on my blogger/squarespace site.
Duly noted! ❤️❤️
Heading over to read you, Jennifer 🙂 enjoy your lunch ❤️❤️
