Jumpin’ Jehoshaphat! Is it already time again for the Quadrille? 

De Jackson here, aka WhimsyGizmo. And it is indeed time once again for my personal fave of all the prompts, the Quadrille. As most of you know, this is a little invention of our own making here at dVerse, when we pen poems of precisely 44 words, including one word we provide. 

Let’s jump right in. 

Today, I want you to jumpstart your muse by infusing your poem with some form of the word jump. 

Pull on your favorite jumper or jumpsuit. Settle into the jump seat. Grab your jump rope. Toss some jumping beans into the mix. Jump around. Jump for joy. We’re jumping and galumphing our way into poetry today.

You could lean into the jump scare of a horror movie. Take a jump shot in the final moments of an important game. “Jump the shark” and write a colossally bad episodic poem. Or write about that celebrated jumping frog. Whatever you chose to write, just be sure your poem clocks in at exactly 44 words, and includes some literal form of the word jump.
