“Between the Falling in Love Parts,” is a 60″ wide x 70″ tall (1.5 m wide x 1.8 m tall) mixed media painting by Phyllis Bramson, a Chicago-based artist. I saw this up close at the museum awhile back and got lost in the imagery of it. Learn more about Bramson here.

I enjoy hosting OLN because I can offer any image or quote. Back in the Spring of this year I chose an image from the Muskegon Museum of Art (MMA,) the local world-class art museum in my neck of the woods. At risk of repeating myself, the painting above is another from MMA’s permanent collection that you may choose as an optional ekphrastic prompt.

Many of you know who Gloria Steinem is and many know that she passed away on Tuesday, September 2. Born on March 25, 1934, she was age 92 when she left us behind and went on to a different plane of existence. We had her watching out for us for a long time, and for that we should be appreciative. She was there for me when I needed her. Gloria’s 1992 book, _Revolution from Within_, came at a time I realized a new life path was in my and my sons’ best interests. She helped me through it. I remember listening to a podcast where she talked with Julia Louise-Dreyfus a few years ago, and her mind was as sharp as ever.
