Lillian here, delighted to host our Tuesday Poetics.

Sometimes life surprises you, right? I’ve “discovered” an 8-year-old boy from the Philippines who is quite an artist! When his father proudly showed me some of his son’s recent artwork, my jaw dropped. I was amazed by the vibrancy of colors he achieves with pastels and watercolors, as well as his artistic insights into the subjects themselves. I remember drawing stick figures at that age!

So today, with permission of his parents and the young artist himself, I share with you four pieces of Azul’s amazing artwork. Your prompt for today is to write a poem inspired by one or more of Azul’s paintings/drawings shown below. Be sure to include the artwork in your post, as well as credit to Azul, the artist. I’ll be sharing your poems with Azul and his parents.

New to dVerse?  Need to be refreshed on the rules?

Here’s what to do:

  • Write a poem inspired by at least one of Azul’s works of art shown above. Be sure to include the artwork in your post and credit 8-year old Azul as the artist. No required form or rhyme scheme.
  • Post the poem to your blog AND add the exact URL for your poem to Mr. Linky below.
  • REMEMBER to either TAG dVerse in your post, or include a link at the end of your poem that leads readers back to dVerse (https://dversepoets.com).
  • If you do not TAG or include a link to dVerse at the end of your post, I will gently remind you to do so. After all, this will increase your readership and comments, and others will find dVerse and hopefully join in the fun. If you do not add the TAG or link after my reminder, I will remove your post from Mr. Linky. I do not want to do that! So please do include the TAG or link!
