Cool that you’re here to share and read.
A beautiful day over here… I biked to a neighbor town today, sat in a little street café, drank Cappuccino and sketched the people around me. Then biked on to a Odilon Redon exhibit – got a bit lost in his butterfly sky– talked to his laughing spider…ha… i sure like artists with a sense of humor… the cherry trees are blossoming.. yeah.. a beautiful day…
On the way back I saw a guy on a bike with a furry black/white dog running next to him and the dog’s ears were flapping just so carefree in the wind that I thought I forever wanna bike after them and watch those dog ears flap…ha… fun day…yeah… so… here we go… a night of poetry ahead… looking forward to what you will bring to the table – and please – don’t just link and run..
Take the time to read some of the others as well… that’s why we’re not staying in our little boxes but get on our poetic bikes, roam the internet and let our ears flap in the wind a bit… smiles … happy reading!!

I had to look up Odilon Redon. Love his work. He reminds me of Chagall, a favorite of mine. I’m glad to be here today. I miss the weekly Tuesday pub and wish this one was at least twice a month.
claudia said:
it’s good to see you colleen… and yes.. chagall is a fav of mine as well

Ha! My youngest son has earlobes that flap when he runs. Terribly cute 🙂 Glad that OLN is here again!!

PS A big part of the reason I miss the weekly open link is that it gave me incentive to write. I also loved meeting other poets and think that poets leave the best comments.
brian miller said:
we may get back there one day…it was burning us out with so many that just dropped links and ran never investing in the community…but hey you can join in any of the prompts…smiles.
and there are poets that leave the best comments…i think they understand the art of it
Colleen@LooseLeafNotes said:
I’m not so good with prompts, especially not on the spot. Maybe the open link could happen twice a week. I prefer the weekday for it but that’s just me. I’m happy to connect with other poets.
claudia said:
oh that sounds very cute indeed… smiles… good to see you bryan

Oh, I can picture that dog running with the bicyclist. And cool that you were able to take a bike ride to another town. Not warm enough here to bike ride, except if one is a hardy soul (which I am not). Thanks for hosting the bar today, Claudia.
brian miller said:
there were a few people on bikes out when we were going to the civic center…i jotted down a little note about one guy because he was taking in the world around him waving to everyone…ha…

Aah, he sounds lovely. I’m sharing house with a gentle (if subtly demanding) furry friend, and I do enjoy her company. I was alone in the house with her for a spell today, and I realised that I had been holding quite a long conversation with her… 🙂

With Best Wishes Scott http://www.scotthastie.com

i think it is a bit more special…or hopefully has that opportunity…its a reunion…a time of coming together and sharing our best…
and a little less motivation for those to just link and run when all the stage they get is one weekend a month…

Can just picture that happy dog with ears a-flapping! Our lovely warm morning here in Massachusetts has dissolved into a cool and rainy afternoon. It’s all good though, helps the residual snow dissolve all the more quickly! Spring is definitely in the air! Could really go for one of those cappuccinos, Claudia, but will settle for a hot cup of tea. Good to see you all! Heading in to read!
claudia said:
i have a cup of tea next to me as well ginny… happy saturday and here’s to quick snow melting..

Following Tony Maude’s prompt on rhythm in poetry, I have linked a poem you’ve seen before, because it really does bear out what he was saying. I’d forgotten about this Glosa – I’d spent the day putting together a collection for MsLexia pamphlet competition, and came across it en route for 20 pages of poetry.

PS I will visit and read tomorrow – my eyes are burning with tiredness.

Hey Bri – stealing a moment moving. Getting my younger son to help me dismantle some furniture (older one bailed! – punk), both helping me move the big stuff tomorrow. Gotta paint tonight, too. Weather’s nice, at least. Hope you’re doing OK- have been out of the loop almost entirely, so haven’t caught up on your dad? ~
brian miller said:
dad is better…he returned to work…but keeping a watch on it…he lost like 30 pounds in the hospital and once home…he wasnt a big guy before, that puts him around 185 now…eating right…seems to be doing well…
so what prompted the move?
just a change in scenery?
I dont envy you…moved a bit in my day

I’m still home, recovering from illness, taking care of the wifey who got the cold-bug way worse than me. Sadly, all I have to keep me entertained (besides all the sports I’m addicted to) are my dreams. But I’ll take it!
It’s late here, and I’ve neglected my poor wife for long enough tonight. But I can’t wait to read what everyone’s been up to! Living vicariously through the poetry of others has become one of my guiltiest pleasures. 🙂
