hey i've seen this face before, thank you, time to get your poem up and have fun reading others, what a wonderful team we have
Is there be a better way to close this change over week than by looking into the faces of all those that served in the pub – and still do….
I really look at their faces and I’m tremendously thankful – for their time, skills – their heart – the work they put into this – their writing, reading, their being around and being an encouragement for many. It’s a rewarding job – and it’s tough sometimes as well
So – THANK YOU!!!
(Note from Brian: Hey I could not let the last time get away without saying…thank you…to all the pubtenders that have helped us along to this point…the countless (and at times thankless) hours of reading/commenting/prompting/interacting…and for those poets that have really bought in to what we are doing here…that make this a community and not just a telephone pole for people to drop poems and run…i appreciate you. Much love, B )
And heck yes – it’s OLN – it’s time to celebrate poetry!
No specific prompt – bring to the pub whatever poem you want – but don’t forget to read others – give them feedback, show your love, value them..
Here’s how it goes
Post a poem to your blog
Open the Mr. Linky widget by clicking on it
Insert your URL and name
Look around and click and read as many of your neighbors as you possibly can… smiles
Have fun & see you out on the trail
–Claudia
I’m first, I’m first, that’s surely a first!
So pleased to be here, and hope you don’t mind if I link to an older poem, one of the very first I wrote when I started out in 2012.
hey that is what OLN is all about —so…smiles
be over in a min…
look at all those purty faces….smiles
thanks again all…i will be around….
awe 😦
let’s tear up the last oln with Mom and Poppa Pub in charge, shall we?
i guess we wont tell you about the back door code we built in…so we can sneak in and check on the kids when we need to…ha
Changing of the guard, the ascendence of a new group of Pub Masters & Tenders; yet not new; old friends whose faces are today’s delicious decor. The Web/Site Masters will change tomorrow, but we of the dVerse pack of poets will return twice & sometimes thrice a week to mingle, to share, to dare, to stretch our horizons & education. The staff here are as knowledgeable as poets ever get, as tutorials & hugs & hosannas are given out freely, lovingly. The fellowship & community is paramount at the Pub, & the free peanuts are cool too.
i hear they may change out the peanuts for ‘chips’…
haha. i will still be looking for you brother..
Wonderful to see all those wonderful faces.. This really shows all the history of this wonderful place.. I am currently with friends at a dinner. So I will make my rounds later.
nice. have fun at dinner man…
Thank you to each of you.
Again for some reason my link didn’t work? http://www.somethingsithinkabout-annell-annell.blogspot.com
i fixed it annell…smiles
hey – just got back from munich… a bit tired but happy… will be catching up now… smiles
happy OLN – and yeah – thanks again to all those that make this pub such a wonderful place
Glad you had a good time in Munich, Claudia!!
welcome home C…
Wow, what a collection of photos! Truly so much work does go into keeping up such an active site. And thanks to Brian and Claudia for starting dVerse and keeping it up over the years. You have done well! The result, as it carries on, is a beautiful legacy….
will be cool to look back years from now and see where it has gone…is going…
I feel nostalgic looking at all the pictures ~ Thanks for the lovely celebration Brian and Claudia ~ I enjoyed the week- long prompt & we should ” joust” every now and then 🙂
Happy OLN everyone ~
ha the joust was a blast…
and i bow to the winner…
I thought that maybe since women outnumber men in our pack of dVerse poets that Claudia would have emerged as top lance. How close was it? a lot of folks used lines from both of you.
I loved the joust.. a great way to celebrate 🙂
Oh.. I love the fact, Claudia, that you have provided the faces behind the names of all the poet leaders here…
I am naturally not a word person hAhA! believe that or not.. before I lose effective use of my eyesight in 2008.. regaining that back in 2013.. when i started writing here.. and finding my love of visual imagery again…
And I am truly still regaining my humanity as it is A HARD THING TO LOSE.. FULLY..:)
BUT ANYWAY THE eyes of a human being tell me more about their soul than words will ever do.. so I will cherish the opportunity to finally see those eyes of the poet leaders here..:)
Oh..and since this is the only place in the Universe now.. I know of anyone now, where even anyone knows what EPIC TOTALLY FREE VERSE POETRY IS.. I share it here.. and never expect anyone to read it.. as truly my poetry is in the inspiration of the comments that i bring to others inspired by the poetry of others.. as gift of sharing free.. as i cherish sharing with others more than anything else for NOW..:)
And SURE being financially independent helps that philosophy of life too..;)
I AM BLESSED.. simple.. COMPLEX.. and true..:) in more ways that my greaTEST dreams of reality can tell..the tale of how much I love life..NOW..:)
I do have to go shopping with my wife as she drags me there to happily dance walk again.. but i plan on commenting on every single poem here.. and perhaps take a break in writing my own posts until Monday.. to accomplish that as two busy days out in the wild with my wife are part of weekends too…IN FUN TOO..:)
I LOVE YOU CLAUDIA AND BRYAN AND BJORN TOO.. and sure everyone else too.. but you three and Glenn and Bill and others have helped me to feel accepted … haha tolerated.. and HUMAN
AGAIN.:)
you are def an interesting character around the pub man…and i am glad you are here…your comments are almost poems themselves too…hope you have fun out there dance walk shopping…
hey – glad you regained your eyesight back… and we def. love to have complex characters in the pub… smiles
Many thanks to you, Claudia and Brian, for your welcome and constant support. You will be missed as big bosses but I am glad you intend to share your poetry with us.
most def…i will still be around…and still carry the banner of community as well…smiles.
i will def. be around as well… just not next tuesday as i just realized that i’ll be flying to berlin on tuesday morning… on business…no painting workshop this time…smiles
Ha! So cool to see all those pics! You guys are just the best–I feel a definite pricking at the sides of my eyes and in my throat–more than pricking. You both are tremendously generous and beyond creative, and have given me more than you know. I’m sorry not to be able to keep up every commitment, but you and the site have meant a huge deal to me. And I count myself so lucky to have met you!!!! If you ever come to upstate New York–you let me know and can see another incarnation! (Of course, still in City but a bit of a nomad at this point.) Take care, I’m going to post in a minute. K.
smiles… was def. cool meeting you in person k. – will read your poem tomorrow as my eyelids seem to have developed a life of their own by constantly wanting to shut…smiles
Ha! Good night, Claudia! k.
See you tomorrow Claudia ~
oh you know i will be up in NYC before you know it…and i will def look you up k…dinner was great at your house that night…ha…
ha – i’m not at all envious that you’ll be going to nyc without me… ha
*pouts”
ha. it is hard to stay away…
and you never know who you might run into at the park
or in a shelley exhibit…
have you forgiven me yet for not liking that piece of art,
our first disagreement i think…lol…
smiles… a bit of disagreement is a healthy thing i think…
and i still have this card you gave me at the shelley exhibit in my purse….
ha. mine is a bookmark on my bedside table…
Words cannot equal the task when something changes my life irrevocably. Claudia and Brian I owe you for the monumental joy and life lessons I’ve encountered here at dVerse. The team has made a difference; the world is better off thanks to your efforts!
smiles…the team has made a difference…true words…and that is what i consider the legacy…that i leave it in the hands of those that have such hearts….
Claudia and Brian ~ you both have so much to be proud of! you made an amazing site, and more importantly, you’ve been so supportive of other poets over the years, myself included ~ thank you!
and many thanks to all the others who have worked at the pub ~ looking forward to more evenings of poetry.
thank you dani…smiles.
thanks Brian and Claudia – you really set the tone for a welcoming place. I really appreciate it – bw
one more followup thought – This place was a bit like “the last homely home” in Rivendale of Toliken lore. A place that’s just right.
haven’t seen some of those folks for a long time… glad so many have come forward when there was need
Wow, too soon it seems we bid adieu to the folks we’ve come to love. Claudia, Brian~ thank you for always being so supportive, for nurturing us and making sure we all felt like part of the family. Ever grateful to both of you, to all the others who have hosted us here, and those who will be stepping up to the bar next! Don’t be forgetting us now, ya hear?!!
ha. would be hard to get me to forget you…
and i will def be around…
Lovely to see the pics of all the good folks who have and who are tending the bar. Thank you so much for your input and inspiration dear Claudia and Brian – you have enriched so many lives.
So grateful.
Kind regards
Anna :o]
So much chaos going on in my life right now. But I could not miss this last Open Link Night and my chance to say thank you to Claudia and Brian for creating this family of poets and friends. My heart will be forever grateful for your time, energy, and support.
Thanks for being here ~ Just to clarify, this is the last OLN for February ~ We still have many more to come 🙂
Yes! Thank you for clarifying that there will be more. I guess my consistent inconsistency of hanging at the pub last left me a little in the dark and clueless. But as long as the pub is here and allows me through the doors 😉 I will be here dancing on tables and drinking in the fine poetry that pours from the taps. 🙂
I have gone through a few of all the poems .. but there is a day tomorrow as well.. I need my sleep tonight.
See you tomorrow Bjorn 🙂
🙂 ~
Happy trails to you too M 🙂
Heading out to a luau with friends. Yeah, we may be still wallowing under two feet of snow here, but we’re thinking of warmer days!! Back later to read more!
ha. that sounds much fun…have a great time ginny….
What a nice touch to add the photos.
we even used words…with vowels…
Out the door to catch the ferry…I want to read EVERYTHING in honor of the occasion of the transition, so will be on the trail later..I appreciate your understanding..
hope the ferry trip goes well kathy…see you in a bit…
What a nice way to close this chapter in the story of the pub. Brian and Claudia, I don’t tire of thanking you. I am so grateful to know you. You’ve created such a warm and friendly atmosphere. And thanks to all who contributed prompts and worked so hard to keep the pub going. I am not sure I can participate today. (A little under the weather.), but I’ll read as many poems as I can. You are both so beautifully spirited and generous. Thank you. Thank you.
hope you feel better myrna
beautiful community
hey ya lisa…
I feel like I’m crashing a private party, but that won’t stop me because I finally wrote the poem for the line contest between you two, Brian and Claudia; but I used one from each so it will not throw off the count. WIshing you both well with many more poems and stories to come.
ah you are welcome anytime susan…as long as i am in charge…
which according to mr linky is 28 more hours…ha
Funny to think of it in terms of hours–but that’s plenty of time for another dring, another walk, another talk …
drink!
ha. yes, it is….
So wonderful to see all these faces–Thank you for all you do and hae done!
Claudia and Brian,
A special thanks for all you have done. This pub has been a healing balm for me and I feel very emotional tonight..haha..you know I am such a weeping willow. This is def hard for me today. May the journey ahead bring great things your way. You have been a light to many and now I hope the light will guide you to wondrous adventures.
dont you disappear on me…smiles.
Lots of good writing today…and expecting more tomorrow. I will be back!
alright, good night.
sleep well sir brian…
Now we are waking up here.. I will go and make my rounds. I guess there is more need for coffee than beer now.
just about to catch up as well… oy… i have quite some reading to do…
This was intense.. and there are more things happening 🙂
This pub is my ‘local’ and I’m here more often than I should be. Each visit is different, yet the ambiance is the same: friendly, welcoming, heart-warming fun. Thank you all for livening up my life.
smiles… and it’s always good to see you in the pub Viv..
And it will go on … it will go on.
Here is to you all for a job well done! I shall toast you tonight with some of our delightful local vin rouge! C’est magnifique!
ah smiles… cheers Léa!
Merci beaucoup!
Brian and Claudia… Thank you very much 🙂 Some flowers through my poem for such an amazing job you have been doing all this time. dVerse really helped me open my horizons of poetry. Hope to see you around!
ha – enjoyed your flower poem and how you gave them personality…flirting and all..smiles
Thank you Claudia 🙂
Nice to see all the smiling faces! How blessed we’ve been by every one of these people. My poem is not directly related, but is kinda celebratory.
(Again it’s very late night for me. I’l be back to read tomorrow.)
Just want to say thank you to everyone who’s made dVerse an inspirational home.
The atmosphere is so very comforting.. and a big reason is all the visiting poets.
I was so sad that I couldn’t participate in this last OLN under the old guard (but happy to be out of town for a baby shower for our first grandbaby… smiles). I did want to pop in and say hello (and goodbye) and thank you so very much for all you have both done here, your support, and all you put out into the world.
Looking forward to what the future will bring, here at the pub and for us all.
Happy Sunday everyone! xoxo
nice…congrats on the new grandbaby…and the first…oh my…
funny we were talking about it at lunch…oddly the boys started talking about one day having their own children…really it was because they were not wanting to clean house today…ha…oy, hopefully that is still a bit aways for me…smiles…ha…
i will still be around…and know where to find you…so its only a goodbye in an official capacity…
Thanks… yes, it’s hard to believe, seems like our kids were babies themselves just yesterday!
What a gallery of talent! I so enjoy being a patron of the Pub. Such a joy it is to read all the poems and to converse with the people.
cool…maybe you will get a chance to do some of that conversing today…
dVerse and all the people here will always hold a dear place in my heart. Thanks for the support and for believing in me. Best wishes to all of you. I’m anxious to see what’s ahead.
and thanks for all you did in the pub laurie…
Sorry I have been so very “absent” these last few weeks. I’m feeling poetry-deprived but life has thrown another curve ball at me as my husband prepares for a 7-hour surgery on his back. We have guests this week and then the day after they leave he has the procedure. I just can’t promise to be pub-crawling for a while as I have no idea what he will be like post-op. Guess I have to dust off my nursing skills and, worse yet, develop some cooking expertise.
I saw that it’s okay to post an old poem today, so will do so and try my hardest to read as many as I can.
Another round of thanks and bravos to Claudia and Brian, support to Bjorn and the team and a warm appreciation for acknowledging the pub-tenders. I feel privileged to have been invited and on board since day 1!
oh i hope all goes well with the surgery victoria… and woot on being on board since day one…
Decided to link it like it’s open! Woohoo!
hey – nice to see you heidi
hey Claudia!
I am always forever late & slow like a turtle.. ye know… ha… I just wanted to send you both my hugs & smiles all the way from Philippines for a job well done. Thank you Claudia! Thank you Brian!… i know…. i know… saying thanks will never be enough for everything you both have done in bringing people together & bringing out the best in them (including me)… but i’ll say it still… smiles… to Bjorn & the rest of pubtenders… we know you’ll give your very best to raise this pub & keep it like a place we used to love… we still do today… cheers!
Hey, Kelvin…..nice to see you here. You were always a favorite pub tender (smiles), and I am glad you continue to write such wonderful poetry!
i love you man…glad you made it….
I am becoming dVersified this week! Wow…what a party! Spent the afternoon catching up to posts and comments…be back soon to read some OLN.
Thanks to Brian and Claudia….and here’s to Bjorn!
Looking forward to new adventures in poetry!
alright…last call…
heading to bed…but i will check in tomorrow to see if anyone sneaks in under the wire…
and i’ll leave the key on the bar….
hihi – maybe i go and hide it… hahah… nah…
caught up with the overnites and off to work…
see you later…
Ha, and already tomorrow the pub will be open again.. We will be her serving drinks and letting you see what exists.
You are all so super and I love and appreciate you. Feeling a lump in my throat as I think of a change here, but those dear ones bowing out deserve a rest and one huge standing ovation. Thank you, thank you, thank you for what you created and developed here. The pub is in good hands and it is exciting to think of the future.
thank you lydia…smiles.
I’ve added a late revised version, following advice from Brian – but quite understand if people don’t feel like revisiting.
