Greetings, my fellow Quadrille-ists! De Jackson, aka WhimsyGizmo here, and it’s that time again: time to pen a poem of exactly 44 words, including one specific word we provide. Today, I’d like you to use your voice.
Listen to the voice inside you. Voice your opinion. Give voice to a new thought. Whether you let your inner siren loose, or stick to your usual poetic voice, please scribble us a little something of exactly 44 words, using some form of the word voice. Whether you turn that voice into a shout, a doubt, a wisp of whimsy or a whispered prayer, is up to you.
New to the Q? Here’s what to do:
The Quadrille is a poem of exactly 44 words (not including the title), including one specific word we here at dVerse provide. Just pen your poem, use the Mr. Linky below to link up, and then head out into the blogisphere to check out some of the most creative poetic voices around. The prompt is up all week, so feel free to let the voice in your heart tell you to come back for more. (And be sure to drop us a hello in the comments below!)
Now, let those poetic voice carry…
Hello all.. what better way to come back to poetry after four weeks of vacation than a quadrille. My voice has been silent for a bit long. Happy Monday to everyone
Hey, Bjorn! I’ve been a bit silent this summer, too. More listening than anything else. Loved your Q, and glad you’re back!
Thanks for hosting De. We missed your voice too!
Thanks, Grace. 🙂
Welcome back Bjorn.
Your Blogger site won’t accept my comments so I will tell you here how very strong and regal your Quadrille is this week — excellent piece Grace!
Welcome back, Björn. I haven’t been around much either. Four weeks of vacation sounds wonderful.
It was… and to a large extent my vacation took me off grid.
Off grid is my favorite!
Welcome back, wanderer! I’m so pleased to read your words again.
Welcome Back Bjorn!
Welcome back, Bjorn. Your “voice” has been missed. Happy Monday!
Cheers, fellow poetic voices! Welcome to the Q44! Have fun writing. I’m pouring tea with honey (good for the voice), and shots of Fireball (there may be karaoke later.) 😉
Karaoke with my voice would be torture… I think I need a single malt whisky
Comin’ right up, Sir!
Thanks for hosting, De, and for voice – a good choice!
Thanks, Kim. So glad you’re here!
De, tea with honey and shots of fireball sounds just right.
Yay! Cheers! 🙂
Hi De. Nice to see you and thank you for posting. This will be fun. I am reasonably good at raising my voice — so let’s see what happens… 🙂
I look forward to listen to your voice.
Hi, Rob. Always love to read your poetic voice. 🙂
Been seeing so much Rumi, that Coleman Barks possessed my voice — and I went ecstatic…
Hi De- thanks for hosting, and what a great prompt.
So happy you’re here! 🙂
Hi De. thanks for hosting! Welcome back Bjorn! good to hear your voice again!
Hi, Toni. So happy to see you today. Share a cup of tea with me?
Nope. But I will happily share a glass of iced tea! 🙂
Sounds perfect. Still way too hot here, too. 😉
Hi De and All. Wonderful prompt for a quadrille. Still sipping coffee which may wire my voice, we’ll see…
Wire it up! Can’t wait!
Such an important time to have, to own, to use … our voice …
Thank you for this timely prompt.
Added mine to the Linky.
May all voice be heard.
Na’ama
So glad you’re here, Na’ama!
Awww! This is such a kind comment! I’m humbled. Thank you! 🙂
I have been off the grid of poetry so long… had to write a second one… now it’s bedtime.
You’re on fire, Sir. With or without my Fireball shots. 😉
Hellooooo….hear my voice? No? Ok, just read it. I went a little dark.
Love this word for the quadrille, De! 🙂
Thanks, Mish. I am loving where it’s taking everybody.
And inspired to write a second one. 🙂
Like Bjorn, I’ve left a second offering. Please feel free to double dip! We want to hear your voices!
Happy Monday All, I’ll be around reading.
Hi, Trudessa. So good to see you here. I’m headed back out on the reading trail myself!
Couldn’t resist a second! This is the yang to my initial yin…
OOOOPS, …that should read YIN to my intial YANG.
Yang or yin, I’m sure it’s got zing! Be over shortly.
Thank you Dee. 🙂
Lovely word!
I will take a little bit of
Morning Glory Tea. Will be back to read through the week.
Hi, Lona. Pouring you a cuppa now. Welcome!
Ah, that we could always reach Rumi’s perfection, but, alas…..
🙂
But may our voices be heard in the stretching and striving.
Thanks De. wonderful word choice!
My pleasure! So happy you’ve found some inspiration here.
Thank you so much for another great prompt, De! ❤
Always love seeing you here, Crystal!
Ack the Linky is still open. Too much pressure lol

Late to the party. It’s been “hit and miss” for most of this year as we’ve had BIG changes in our lives, but hopefully back. SO enjoying reading you all! Such brilliant word-wielders here!
