dVerse Open Link Night, February, In spirit of Valentine's Day, meet poets around the globe, Poetry and such, poetry reading, Sanaa Rizvi, Walt Whitman
Good evening, everyone!
Sanaa here (aka adashofsunny) delighted to host Open Link Night today and Live edition on Saturday.
You can link up one poem of your choice down below or write to the optional mini-prompt which we are offering today – something simple – since it was Valentine’s Day yesterday!
This is a live edition, but we will only have one opportunity to join on Saturday at 10 AM New York Time. The session will run on Microsoft Teams app!
Please click on the link below to join us on Saturday:

Now for the Mini-Prompt
Consider this line from Walt Whitman’s poem
“When lilacs last in the dooryard bloomed.”
For further inspiration, I have used AI to create an image.

If you choose to use the optional prompt, you can use the line, the AI work, both or just one.
When you have linked up the poem you can read and comment as usual, and you are welcome to join us on the live session at 10 AM New York Time. Have fun and see you on the poetry trail!
Belated happy valentine’s day and welcome to open link night, everyone!
On the menu, we have pink pasta with shrimp and vodka. I am adding irresistible southern crab cakes and rosé to the list.
We also have a variety of drinks and dessert such as strawberry chardonnay gelee, chocolate beer cake and blackberry white chocolate pots de creme.
Let me know if I can get you anything else! See you on the poetry trail! 🩷🩷🩷
That’s one of my all-time fave dishes – can you make mine spicy?
Happy Valentine’s +1 – hope you still have some chocolate, for yourself. ❤️
Yes ofcourse! I will make it spicy for you, just the way you like it! 🩷🩷
I wish I had not already eaten with that menu but thank you for the temptation! And the lilacs x

Looking forward to it, Dwight! 🥰🥰
Greetings, Sanaa and all! The Valentines offering left from me this time; but I do love the lilacs and been wanting to use them as a motif for a long time, so definitely something to come back to!
I am glad to hear that! Looking forward to reading what you come up with. Happy Thursday, Oloriel 🩷🩷

I try to keep up, but mostly I’m overwhelmed. But I do still follow what dVerse is up to, even if I don’t participate.
That’s understandable! 🩷🩷
Hello, I was out last night and did not come back until late. I will link up a poem soon, and will join on Saturday. Look forward to read what you have written.

Hi Everyone.
My first time doing this so I hope I got it right.
I left a little something for you, hope you like it
Heading over to read you, Stephen! 🩷🩷
Hello. Thank you for hosting. The Whitman line reminded me of old cellar holes where New England farmhouses used to stand. I posted a two-fer as I am quite late in meeting Laura’s cascade challenge. I hope to be live in the Pub tomorrow.
It was wonderful to hear you read today! 🩷🩷
And you! Thank you for hosting.
🥰🩷🩷
Thanks, Sanaa,
I’d love to join tomorrow, but I’ll be traveling by car at that time. Enjoy the session and hope to be able to join again next time.
We would love to have you join us next time! 🩷🩷

Looking forward to welcoming you all! 🩷🩷
Still not able to join meeting.
It was good to see you, Lisa! Glad you were able to join at last! 🩷🩷
Thank you, Sanaa! It worked so much better from the app rather than from the browser. Thanks for being such a good host. I loved your poem and your hand flourishes made it even better ❤
Aww gosh! Thank you, Lisa! 😍🥰
You’re very welcome. I’m glad that you, Bjorn, and Lillian are committed to hosting the LIVE events, otherwise they wouldn’t happen.
Dear Sanaa, sorry I am so late. Since last Saturday we have been dealing with a family member, young and in critical condition after multiple surgeries. Relieved to report on Friday she took a turn for the better, not completely out of the woods but definitely climbing that steep hill. I posted this on Friday to Poets and Storytellers all about secrets never told. See you Monday, your Monday for the Quadrille challenge.
PS .. just finished watching the Live Show! Thoroughly enjoyed. Cheers to all.
