Lillian here, delighted to host Open Link Night today and dVerse LIVE on Saturday! I’m back home in chilly Boston, after spending two delightful months in San Diego, California.
FIRST PIECE OF BUSINESS!
You’re invited to join us in a LIVE session with audio and video on Saturday, March 16th from 10 to 11 AM, New York time. Come read one of your poems aloud, or feel free to drop by and just listen. The more the merrier!

SECOND PIECE OF BUSINESS: Today’s OLN – Open Link Night.
You’re invited to post ONE POEM OF YOUR CHOOSING, on Mr. Linky below. There is no required form, length, or topic.
OR
you may use the optional prompt below.
OPTIONAL PROMPT: Van Gogh’s painting “Window in the Studio” – painted in 1889. Image provided below. Write a poem, motivated by the painting. You don’t necessarily need to describe the painting. You may just use it as your inspiration. The image is in public domain so feel free to cut and paste it into your blog. Do however provide the name of the painting and credit Van Gogh.
I look forward to reading your poem, posted to Mr. Linky below!
And I hope to see many of you at dVerse LIVE on Saturday!
New to dVerse? Need to be refreshed on the rules?
Here’s what to do:
- Write one poem (no required length, form, or prompt) OR one poem that follows the OPTIONAL prompt above
- Post the poem to your blog AND add the exact URL for your poem to Mr. Linky below.
- REMEMBER to either TAG dVerse in your post, or include a link at the end of your poem that leads readers back to dVerse (https://dversepoets.com).
- If you do not TAG or include a link to dVerse at the end of your post, I will gently remind you to do so. After all, this will increase your readership and comments, and others will find dVerse and hopefully join in the fun. If you do not add the TAG or link after my reminder, I will remove your post from Mr. Linky. I do not want to do that! So please do include the TAG or link!

Would love lemon meringue… sounds divine, but alas I am a bit full after being out with friends for burger and beer…

Good to see you, Bjorn! Shall set aside a piece for when you’ve fully digested that burger and beer! 🙂

Happy Thursday, Lill and dVerse poets! I’ll try to be there on Saturday to read my poem. In the meantime, the lemon meringue pie is very tempting, with a cup of decaf cappuccino on the side, please.

Hello there! Going to check in on Saturday morning from Sin City, you guessed it .. Las Vegas. Going to a Carrie Underwood concert; my son Carl has a huge crush! We don’t gamble, but are going to Old Las Vegas as well for the Neon Museum and the Mobsters Museum. Also touring the Hollywood Classic Car Museum. And home on Sunday. Got my Wearin’ O’ The Green all ready. How about an Irish Whiskey on the rocks, please.

Irish whiskey coming right up! We were in Las Vegas years and years ago….stopped there before we went on to the Grand Canyon, Bryce etc. We are not gamblers at all….so none of that. It was right after one of the 2 men who performed there with white tigers was malled….so that would date if for you. At that time, believe it or not, there was a Liberace Museum. It was amazing! No longer there….I suspect the # of people wanting to see it dwindled to almost nothing. If not for the movie with Matt Damon, my guess is none of the younger generation (and by that I mean in their 40s) would recognize the name anymore. So enjoy your time there….will be good to see you on Saturday!

Thank you for hosting Lil. My eyes are feeling pretty good following the macular procedure on Monday, so I am going to try to be awake at 7:00 AM Saturday. 🙂👍🏼✌🏼🫶🏼

GLAD your eyes are doing well and delighted you’ll be joining us! Even if you sleep in a bit….come late. Everyone would love to see you! I’ll be hosting the entire hour – unless we only have 2 or 3 people! But my guess is we’ll have enough to fill the hour!

Okay, was not writing mich lately, but still more poems in the last month than in a long time.
Thanks to all of you for this awesome community! And from the bar I’ll have some Palinka if you have some. Had some really good one with friends last time in Romania!
And big thanks to Lilian for hosting.

Always happy to tend the pub! Palinka coming right up!!!! Might you share the ingredients so others know what it is?
Glad to see you here tonight! It is a friendly bunch and I so enjoy meeting everyone at the pub. Perhaps you’ll join us LIVE on Saturday?

Sure, here some info for those that don’t know it yet.
Romanian Palinka, also known as țuică, is traditionally made by selecting ripe fruits, often plums. Some Palinka varieties may be aged in wooden barrels to enhance flavor, while others are consumed shortly after distillation. The production of Palinka is deeply ingrained in Romanian culture and tradition, with methods varying between regions and producers, including homemade production using age-old techniques passed down through generations.
And I’m lucky to sometimes get some homemade Palinka from friends.
Palinka is comparable to other fruit brandies or eaux-de-vie produced in different regions around the world.

Okay folks, leaving he pub for the night. Not to worry….as always, I’ve left the key under the flowered pot to the right of the door. Come on in to the pub and help your self to libations and dessert. All I ask is that you leave a poem on Mr. Linky as your payment for entry….and that you leave the key under the pot when you leave. See you in the morning! AND hopefully at dVerse LIVE on Saturday!

Lillian,
It is Friday morning and I am happy to have made it here. I look forward to reading everyone’s poems. I have been hiking in the Tucson mountains and they are their own special kind of poetry. Wishing you a grand day.
lillian said:
Ooooh….hiking in the mountains! I am jealous – sounds wonderful! Happy to see you at the pub….perhaps you’ll share some words and photos from your hike?

Hi Lillian–and all!
Thank you for hosting. It’s been a busy week, and I’ve just posted. I’m not sure about Saturday. I will catch up with reading over the weekend. Meanwhile, I think I’ll help myself to a glass of red wine. We tasted an interesting Portuguese one recently.
lillian said:
Good to see you here, Merril. Glad I’ve put the libations out so folks can help themselves.
Missed you at LIVE today….but do understand. Perhaps we’ll see you in April! 🙂
