Welcome to OpenLinkNight everyone! As you know, OpenLinkNight is your opportunity to share 1 poem of your choice. If you missed the Mr Linky deadline in our previous prompts, this is the time to share your poem. We also offer an optional mini-prompt for those who are looking for inspiration to write poetry.
Here is the optional mini-prompt: write a poem about the painting below or about the title of the art work, The False Mirror, or both. The painting is by Rene Magritte, 1928 in Paris, France.
It is springtime here in Ontario, Canada. We have daffodils in my backyard and blooming cherry trees in the park. Here is a poem about April:
April Is a Dog’s Dream
BY MARILYN SINGER
april is a dog’s dream
the soft grass is growing
the sweet breeze is blowing
the air all full of singing feels just right
so no excuses now
we’re going to the park
to chase and charge and chew
and I will make you see
what spring is all about

Hi everyone! I look forward to reading your poems in a bit. In the meantime, happy poeming and let me know if you like coffee or tea with our apple or blueberry pie.

Herbal tea it is for a night cap. Looking forward to reading the sonnet Bjorn. Sonnets are a challenging form.
