Good evening, everyone!
Sanaa here (aka adashofsunny) delighted to host Open Link Night today and Live edition on Saturday. You can link up one poem of your choice down below or write to the optional mini prompt which we are offering today.
This is a live edition, but we will only have one opportunity to join on Saturday at 10 AM New York Time. The session will run on Google Meet.

Now for the mini-prompt:
Consider this line from Pablo Neruda’s poem from “The Wide Ocean.”
“Ocean, if you were to give, a measure, a ferment, a fruit
of your gifts and destructions.”
For further inspiration I have created an image using AI to stir your muse.

If you choose to use the optional prompt, you can use the line, the AI work, both or just one.
When you have linked up the poem you can read and comment as usual, and you are welcome to join us on the live session at 10 AM New York Time. Have fun and see you on the poetry trail!
Welcome to Open Link Night everyone,
On the menu we have peachy jalapeno guacamole with nachos, soft pretzels with beer cheese dip, I am adding buffalo macaroni bites to the list 😀 they are amazing with Louisiana style hot sauce. We have both margaritas and mojitos to go along with everything.
Or if you prefer, we also have vanilla cupcakes with coffee/tea of your choice. See you on the poetry trail! ❤️❤️
Good evening poets, and thank you Sanaa for the mini-prompt. My poem is an old one but I think it fits the prompt. Finally it is beginning to warm up a bit in the UK, so a zero alcohol lager and some sea salt and balsamic vinegar crisps would be lovely!
Zero alcohol lager and sea salt and balsamic vinegar crisps for the lovely lady 🥰 loved your poem, Kim! Happy Thursday 🩷🩷
Thank you, Sanaa!
You’re most welcome 🥰🥰

Hello everyone, I’m glad to be back after a short break for vacation and Hurricane Beryl nonsense.
Sanaarizvi, your menu sounds just like something we’d serve at a super bowl party – I’ll take a little of everything. And I’d love to more about what makes the guacamole “peachy”. 😊
I didn’t write to the prompt but promptly dug out a poem I wrote on the 10th anniversary of my brother’s death last October. Death has often been my muse, which I guess is the same for many poets and authors. Poetry is so cathartic, and this group is so supportive. Thank you to you all!!
Hi Kim! I will join you for some peachy jalapeno guacamole with nachos with mojito 🥰 I stumbled across the recipe online! I will mail it to you! 🩷🩷
Heading over to read you!
Hello, community. I’ve been writing, just haven’t been here! Thank you Sanaa for posting, and please enjoy the linky, and read back over some of what I’ve been writing! –Alexandra (Xan)
Hi Xan! I so loved your poignant and relatable poem. Thank you for sharing it. Happy Thursday 🩷🩷
