Good evening, everyone!
Sanaa here (aka adashofsunny) delighted to host Open Link Night today and Live edition on Saturday.
You can link up one poem of your choice down below or write to the optional mini prompt which we are offering today.
This is a live edition, but we will only have one opportunity to join on Saturday at 10 AM New York Time. The session will run on Google Meet.

Now for the mini-prompt:
Consider the opening line from Emily Dickinson’s poetic masterpiece “The Moon was but a Chin of Gold.”
The Moon was but a Chin of Gold
A Night or two ago—
For further inspiration I have included an image to stir your muse. It was taken by my sister a few years ago, she has graciously allowed me to use it.
What more can be said about the moon? It has always carried an air of quiet allure, rising with a glow that transforms the night into something hushed and dreamlike. Its presence is both comforting and mysterious, as though it holds countless untold stories in its light.
Suspended high above, it casts silver over oceans and fields, guiding wanderers, inspiring poets, and reminding us of the beauty found in stillness.
The moon is timeless, its phases a gentle rhythm that connects past to present, earth to sky, and the human heart to something greater.
If you choose to use the optional prompt, you can use the line, the photo, both or just one. Please do join us on the live session at 10 AM New York Time. Have fun and see you on the poetry trail!

Welcome to Open Link Night (with Live) everyone
On the menu today we have:
Or if you prefer, we also have chocolate pecan pie with coffee/tea of your choice. See you on the poetry trail! ❤️❤️

I’ll have some of that dark chocolate please and a Stout if you could. Getting ready to post a link that does a little of both here tonight. A poem of my choice but one that, though, isn’t something new to your Moon mini prompt, IS of the Moon and one from another prompt from here in June of last year.
Cheers all!

I’ll have a special poets primetime genius green tea.
And could you do me a favour and delete my first link? It’s one to a poem that served me as inspiration. I posted the wrong link in my first attempt. Thanks for the patience!

Thanks for the prompt, Sanaa! I’ve been away for a while but am happy to be back amongst my dVerse peeps and will be reading all of the wonderful poems soon. I’m on a birthday trip to California in the wine country among the redwoods, so it might take a couple of days! And since it’s early morning here, how about a cuppa joe?
Cuppa joe for the birthday girl! 🥰 Have a wonderful trip! ❤️❤️
