Helloooo, Wordsmiths! De Jackson here (aka WhimsyGizmo). It’s Quadrille Monday here at dVerse, when we share our poems of precisely 44 words, including one word we provide for you.

I know it’s February, and very much still winter in many parts, but I’ve already got dandelions and daisy chains on the brain. So today, I’d like you to pen us a poem that includes some form of the word FLOWER

Write about wildflowerscornflower blue, your flowerchild days or the gorgeous redheaded girl at the flower shoparound the corner. There are sunflowers and moonflowerssnowflowers and crowflowers. And I suppose a sink, hose (or even nose) could be a fast flow-er, or a slow flow-er. Lean into a literary reference like Flowers for Algernon or Flowers in the Attic. You could even write about Flower, the shy skunk from Bambi.

Use flowery language, or keep it simple. Use the word any bloomin’ way you choose – take those flowers and plant ’em, pick ’em, deliver ’em or share ’em – just be sure to get some form of the word into your poem of exactly 44 words.

New to the Q? Here’s what to do:
Pen us a poem of precisely 44 words (not counting the title), including some form of the word flower. Post your poem on your own blog, and link up with us using the Mr. Linky below. Then spend some time flow-ing through the blog-iverse and reading the lovely flower-crowned poems. The Quadrille is here all week, so be sure to come back and read (and write) some more!
