Greetings, fellow slingers and singers of phrase. De Jackson (aka WhimsyGizmo) here, and it’s Quadrille Monday again…when we pen those pithiest of poems containing just 44 words, including one word we here at dVerse provide for you.

Today, I want you to make your poems sing.

Sing for your supper. Sing in the shower. Sing your heart out. Zing us with a story about a jazz singer…or a humble busker on the corner of a busy city street. Sing like a canary. Sing us to sleep, or sing it loud and sing it proud.

Sing the body (of your poem) electric.

(Read the whole poem here.)

To sing’s the thing. And of course, you could add a strategic t and give your poem a little stinger. Get a little dyslexic and show off your sign language. Strike a match and add an e to singe your words instead. The point is to find the inspiration to pen a poem, get it down to precisely 44 words, and share it with your poetical friends.

New to the Q? Here’s what to do:
Pen us a poem of precisely 44 words (not counting the title), including some literal form of the word SING. Post your poem on your own blog, and link that poem up here using the Mr. Linky below. Then make your way around to your fellow poets’ places to see what makes them sing. The Quadrille is up all week, so be sure to come back to read, write, and sing some more.
