Yes! Lucky number 7! Would you think less of me if I told you it’s been my lucky number…since birth actually, if you know numerology! My name is Natasha Head and I am here to welcome you to the absolute best place to share your poetry online, not to mention the liveliest place to be on a Tuesday, anywhere around the world…
Over the past two months, we have seen you, the Poets, take this community and breathe life, love, laughter, and joy, sorrow and pain into every corner of the dVersePoets Pub. It oozes from our walls in streams of words, images, and song. It is the spot light that we shine to the stage every Tuesday, where we ask you brave souls to step to the mic…and show the world just how very vital those words are.
Our growth has been fantastic, and it is all because of YOU. It is your commitment to the words that we raise our glasses to this evening. Your commitment to your art, your passion, your SELF! If you’re anything like me, you’re here because you need to be…because those words just would not stay buried any longer.
So, fellow word-bleeders…the stage is set, the lights are low, the mood is perfect, for the words to flow. OpenLinkNight means just that. Bring your muse, take the stage, and tell us your story. For the newcomers…the warmest of welcomes, and to old friends, we thank you for your support, your efforts, and most of all your poetry love!
Here’s how it works…
- Post your poem to your blog. Spread the poetry love by including a link back to this site, and all the wonderful word weavers who post.
- Click the Mr. Linky box. Here you will be prompted to enter your name and a link to your poem. Cut and paste the link, add your name, and click submit. For those new to Mr.Linky, this is the box you will click-through in order to visit the other poems that are linked up with us.
- With your poem now posted, you are free to visit the other contributors who have stepped up to the mic. Don’t hesitate to comment if a particular piece has really moved you, or if a rhyme holds you in awe. Show your support of those who have found the courage to share their hearts here this evening. This is what a community is for…inspiration, motivation, encouragement, and advice.
- Spread the poetry love using the social networking site of your choice. Help our community, and our citizens grow and evolve. We are Poetry in Motion…let’s shout it to the world!
Yahtzee?? 🙂

Wow, couldn’t get the Open Link page to come up. And when I did, I was w-a-a-a-y down the list. But Anthony’s back in his usual place–front of the line.
Thanks for all your help, Tasha, my dear friend. See you around the poetic blogosphere.
Like I said Joe…you’re the bestest! You always top my list…

oh thank you so much Teghvir…
Yay 7! Thanks for hosting, Tash!
And thanks to you for tackling the sestina! Yes…that one was a doozy! You did well, Poet 🙂
Natasha you wrote the perfect intro to my own effort tonight–this one has taken months, much advice and help from my fellow poets, and a lot of blood from the pen. It’s a great relief to get out into the pub and toss off a flagon of mead to get the taste out of my mouth, then read some of the best poetry on the internet.
I’ll raise my mug to that! Can’t wait to visit 🙂

Yay, I’m not as terribly late as I thought I’d be (snuck away for a moment to the internet cafe). Sad I won’t get to read up a storm for a few more hours (uber excited as always)! Also, no neurologically damaging big words this week so please stop by and visit Colorado with me. Natasha you’re the best!!!
Anna, I will raise my mug to that 😉 Can’t wait to see what you wrote for this week.
Cheers to my fellow pubsters! 🙂 Here’s my contribution for this week: Planet Bling.
Fashionable late as usual – which means I need to go do some facebook shout outs. Help me spread the word, everyone – Open Link Night has begun with T-Girl (i.e. Tashtoo) leading the way – YEA!
Sheila…have I told YOU lately you rock! Thanks for all you do over on FB….keeping that poetry vibe alive on the beast that it is 🙂
Hello Tashtoo.
Hello and welcome back! The proof is always in the return visits 😉
I hope you guys enjoy mine! 🙂 Thanks!

Enjoyed it–micropoetry is always good with me.
Hope it was okay to link to a poem I wrote a couple of weeks ago. It’s one I would really like feedback on, and I edited it to add an 8/30/11 update with a link back here. 🙂 Looking forward to checking out some of the other poems. (Wish I had time to read them all.) Peace, Linda
I got so eager, I wrote a poem a day early, and have linked to two places, as a result – Hope that is OK? I’m only ‘spreading the love’, eh?
no problem at all jinksy…spreading the love sounds good…smiles
Phew!! I made it!! Hi Natasha, hi everyone! Posting a new poem, not exactly about the hurricane itself that just slammed our east coast, but inspired by some of the images seen on the news reports. My thoughts go out to anyone at our pub who may have been affected. Your drinks on me tonight 🙂

Nice to be here again this week! This poetry pub turns my thoughts to favorite watering holes of the past. Years ago, when I lived on the East Coast, I spent summer weekends and week-long summer holidays at Ocean City, Maryland. The Shoreham Hotel, an oceanfront hotel built in the 1920s and not much renovated since, was my fave. An establishment in its basement (!) was, I seem to recall, called The Cave. Dark and cavernous in a faux, Disneyesque way, sometimes it even offered deafening live music. A quick Google check proves that the Shoreham is still with us — even after Irene — at 4th street and the Boardwalk, within short walking distance to amusements, marinas, and shops. And everything changes while nothing does: in its basement now is “Shenanigan’s Irish Pub & Grille”…
Thanks for joining us again, and armed with another great pub reminiscence. I’ve enjoyed a few shenanigans at ye old Irish pubs and grilles back in the day myself. The Irish have even colonized the dustbowl and here we have a bar & grill named O’Connel’s that provides the requisite green beer on Saint Paddy’s day to a puzzled bunch of cowboys and college football freaks. As you say, some things are eternal.
been offline for a bit…playing some catch up!~
I must participate if the Pride of the Maritimes is hosting. 😉
We’re rocking it East Coast kitchen party style this week! lol Just wait till I break out my fiddle and spoons 🙂
You realize we now expect musical accompaniment with your next poem, I hope. ;_)

whew! i was afraid i wouldn’t make it before last call. i’m really looking forward to lots of good reading.
fair warning ~ my post may not appeal to anyone who might be offended by a humorous take on Heaven and St. Peter.
At the 11th hour I link up! It’s good to be bach – er…back!
Always good to see my other Mary.
Good morning Poets! Glad to see the party is still underway…back to burn thru some fantastic reads…coffee in hand….now, shall we discuss these things we call JOBS…I know mine cuts in terribly on my reading 😉
JOBS. UGH. Soooo annoying. But you have to pay for that internet connection somehow.
away at the mo using an alien computer …have therefore submitted an older poem -..home tomorrow when I look forward to reading others submissions …thank you and cheers x

Back for round two, coffee in hand and ready to breakfast on words. Thanks to everyone who’s rockin the pub and filling my brain with poetry.
So much great poetry to read! Making the rounds now.
Bossman has left the building! I can read again 😉 Gotta love it!
I am late to the mic but at the same time since its the dark and seedy hour I can slip my slightly daring poem under the drunk’s noses. I am thankful that the pub is still open so that I may swallow down some poetry bourbon before I have to prepare for the new day and work.
ha ha – think i need to check this out…smiles
Cant believe the instant success of this site.
love this.
Glad to have found this site – astonished at the number of poets posting!
The power of persuasion – here I am again ☺♥☺
and so for something different… again..
thanks for the momentary mike 🙂
Um, totally hot.
Hi to everyone. Wow! There are lots of people here. I wrote one poem for two prompts, not my favourite thing to do, but time has been short. I look forward to reading other poems.
Pamela
yay you made it! smiles.
just coming back on line folks before i head out on a trip…
There are so many poets stepping up to the mic, so might I make a suggestion? What do you think about listing our entries with the poem’s title followed by the blog title/poet’s name? So that’s a question, not just a suggestion, but isn’t it all the same in one realm or another we’ve yet to discover? Or perhaps we have. (Don’t blame me for not getting enough sleep.)
I used the following for my entry: “Tulips” by safehousepoetry … I’d like to see the title of the poem and blog/poet for other pieces as well. Thoughts?
I can’t tell you how thankful I was to stumble into the pub tonight. I’ve been too long out of the community of fellow poets. Write on dear once, I can’t wait to read your verses. Forgive my late contribution, thank you for your company this evening.
