The power of their scribbled words
as poets fight with written swords
The softness of their tender pens
their words make love that never ends
The pictures in their sooty ink
the sweetest wine – a ruby drink
I still have vacation so I will not post anything.. Just popping in to read a little..

My goodness, I got so used to the hiatus, I barely had the good sense to check over here late in the morning; & then in the tradition of all good poets, I had to kick my ass into hyperdrive to get something ready for when those hallowed Pub doors would open; but whew, made it. Have to go off to a rehearsal for my play soon, so will catch up to you all later this evening. Damn it is good to be back in the saddle again!

Well..’they’ say poetry can change the hearts and minds of culture..and in my view there are not many that fall ABOVE! the standard of change that the Beatle’s influenced in the the latter part of the 20th century..yes with the addition of musicK.. but the lyrics of poetry that is the core of their song..iN what truly setS them apart from the Herd of Minstrel poets in that day..of song..that is emerging as DANCE2!noW!
And hopefully.. the number of G rated photos employed.. will not annoy..but the post is developed before this prompt..and after 5 years of shut-in.. the mundane of my life is too much of a miracle NOT to celebrate for me..with or withOUT..an audience..:)
But any Poet without an audience..
Is inherently a sad thing…;)!
i think….
Off to stores with my wife..back to read and comment later..:)!
claudia said:
i deeply believe that poetry can change the heart and mind of a culture – and even more when combined with music… have fun on your trip to the stores..

Poets! Poets! Poetics
Such an amazing celebration this is. It is a day that reminds me I am not alone in the crowd – I am not secluded, reserved in my world – there is a much wider breathing space of poetry – so many amazing poets that I have come to know through their words – a connection, a bond that I feel is stronger than ties of blood – and all that arising from the magic of words.
To the poets! Cheers, Thanks for bringing me into Dverse Brian and Claudia. I have not been able to write much off late – but I know I belong here, right here.
brian miller said:
yes, you do…hope you are doing well abhra…and that those words find you soon enough…smiles…happy anniversary!
Andrew said:
I say; ask Claudia to make a water colour image as the heading of the dVerse web site. Then it will be outstanding.
brian miller said:
i could not argue with that…
Kathy said:
I will post soon. It’s great to see everyone here and in celebratory mood. Happy
Anniversary dVerse poets!
First I want to comment on the art presented here yesterday and today. Claudia, your art is not unlike your poetry – youthful in playful vivid color, full of character, sensitivity and truth, honesty and intimate and full of love. I think, too, it appeals
to the intellect. And Alison’s has similar qualities…both are great and in each I can just hear the voices in the background. Brava ladies!
a fellow sketcher
brian miller said:
look for you in a bit kathy….
and i agree on claudias art….def full of life and love….
claudia said:
smiles… thank you fellow sketcher… i’ve seen your sketches on flickr and loved them…
Kathy said:
oh my….I couldn’t believe I did that…had a brave streak that day…..am enjoying it and the group..am sure you are , too. and each has his or her own style…how we perceive things. and…I do believe I can improve. thanks claudia
Kathy said:
I’m sorry I missed this comment before…thank you…I’m tying to lighten up my sketching/painting..they are mostly “over worked and worried” 😉 But your have your personality written all over them, which of course is brilliant, curious and vital!!
Glad you had a good trip in Scotland recently and now it’s almost fall..my goodness where does time go? It is Labor Day here and most are taking it easy..or working a second or third job…depending on circumstances 🙂 Have a good day.
