Here is Björn again,
Today’s prompt is mirrors…
what do you see in the mirror? Yourself or something more?
Do you see paths to other worlds?
Like Alice’s looking-glass.
Or have you seen infinity in the endless repetition of mirrors?
“Mirrors and copulation are abominable, since they both multiply the numbers of men…”
– Jorge Luis Borges
You might even argue that the mirrors always lie.
Or maybe looking at yourself in a mirror is a cause to self-reflect. Is that another line in my face?
Do I look stupid in that tie/dress/shirt?
Or do you avoid mirrors altogether?
The prompt today is totally open, you are free to write whatever you want reflecting on mirrors (pun intended)
When you have written your poem, and posted to your blog. Please link up below, visit other have fun in the laughing mirrors, see yourself in other’s poem. Comment have fun.
Hello and happy Poetics… I’m still catching up on the Quadrilles hope you feel ready to reflect with me… in the mean time I can serve you some hot toddy or ice-cold beer…
Hi Björn! Another great prompt. I’ll be checking in later today read the others. I chose Cleopatra’s last moments before she killed herself. Just a beer today…been a looooong day!
Beer coming up… it was fun to create the prompt…
🙂
Ah so much reflection of late, this is a perfect prompt. Finally starting to see myself as I am, and not some mythology i invented. Very sobering, and not terribly likable, so lets fix that with some slivovich or grappa please. I didn’t know i had permission to murder and to maim.
Anything done virtually is allowed… even slivovich… I do have some raspberry palinka… that is much better.
Goodnight my friends… will pass by the bar tomorrow morning.
Interesting topic. Thanks for hosting, Bjorn! I should have something by this evening.
I look forward to it Frank
Great prompt. Crazy night. Have submitted and will read later.
Good that you had time …
Loving this. I had to fall down the rabbit hole with Alice for just a little while, of course.
Of course rabbit holes and mirrors come in pairs
Evening, Poets! Thanks, Bjorn, for this intriguing prompt! Looking forward to reading this great poetry, soon!
Good morning Frank… I hope for many good poems too.
This was so nice I wrote for it twice! I wanted to write for Monday too, but I only have so much time to read and write. I saw the super blue moon last night it was amazing! I wrote a poem about it if you wish to read it it’s on my site. Have a wonderful rest of the week!
Great to see you… Mirrors are fascinating.
Great prompt Bjorn! Many thanks.
Great that you love it.
A wonderful prompt. Thanks, Björn!
a bit late for this play date, but I was swept up in writing epic prosetry – had to carve and whittle and stop and reflect, ended up with a different approach …. so many possibilities, so little time ….
great idea and prompt – thanks for hosting 🙂
Hello Björn, Hello Everyone,
