This is a test…this is only a test…
are you acing it yet?
Greetings, my poetical friends. How’s your crazy April going? Are you writing a poem a day? Are you acing it? Well, for today’s Quadrille, I want to give you the chance to do just that – ace your poem. Unless it’s your first time here at the dVerse rodeo, you know a Quadrille is a poem of exactly 44 words, not counting the title, and including one word we provide. Today, I’d like you to ponder the word ace.
Go with the ace of spades. Fall for the ace of hearts. Listen to some Ace of Base. Find the right muse to be your ace in the hole. Use the word in any way you choose; just be sure you’re acing this poetry test by penning a poem of precisely 44 words, and that the word ace is literally placed in there somewhere.
Fellow children of the 80s know who this guy is:
And remember Snoopy’s alter-ego, Flying Ace?
New to the Q? Here’s what to do:
Just write a poem of exactly 44 words, including some form of the word ace. Get creative with parentheses and hyphens if you’d like, but please be sure the word ace is in there somewhere, and that your poem adds up to exactly 44 words, not including the title. Link it up by clicking Mr. Linky. Then be sure to give some of your fellow ace poets some love by reading their work and leaving a comment. The prompt is open for the whole week, so remember to come back and read (and write!) some more!

Hi, guys! It’s time to (f)ace the music, and (pl)ace your bets. Which drink is best for playing poetry poker?
If you’re poeming, I’m pourin’.

Grace, can you let me know if my comment went through on your blog? I am having blogspot issues already today. Sigh.
Here is what it said:
Hi, Grace. I am having trouble with blogspot blogs already today, but hoping this goes through.
LOVE:
“breath in necklace of blooms”
and “purples” as verb. Spectacular.

As always, De, you are a gracious and fun host; interestinf prompt word this time. I liked the option to use a word that ace was within, like face, pace and space. I just used the word; smile.

Thanks, Glenn. Always so happy to see you, and read your awesome quotes and poems.
