Helloooo, poet warriors! De Jackson here, aka WhimsyGizmo, and it’s time again for my favorite poetry prompt, the Quadrille. It’s time to write those pocket-sized poems of just 44 words, not counting the title, and including one word we provide. And today, I’d like you to jolt, jerk and jar your words into a poem.

Muppets from Space, 1999

Pen us some fine poeming jargon. Jar us up some pickles, or a word jam-boree of your choosing. Jarring. Jarred. Jarful. Jarhead. Ajar. Use it as a noun, verb, or adjective. Rhyme it, or don’t. Just be sure your poem holds a total of exactly 44 words, including some form of the word jar

New to the Q? Here’s what to do:
Let your muse out of the jar, and scribble us a poem of precisely 44 words, not counting the title, and using some form of the word jar. Then head out into the blogosphere to visit some of the finest poets on the ’net. And don’t forget: the Quadrille door is ajar all week, and multiple poems are welcome!

Here’s some music inspiration from Paul McCartney’s Medicine Jar

And hey, before you go, grab a Cookie…
