Greetings, poets! De Jackson, aka WhimsyGizmo, de-lighted to be here to host Quadrille Monday, when we take to paper to pen featherlight poems of just 44 words, including one word we provide.

Today, let there be light

Read the whole poem here.

Write about daylightmoonlightsunlight, or starlight. Let lightning strike more than once. Leave your poem as a lighthouse for others to find their way back from sea. Write by candlelightstreetlight, or floodlight. You can take a lighthearted approach or light the page on fire.

Find more light poem inspiration here and here

As a little light housekeeping, just remember to keep your lightweight poem exactly 44 words long, including some form of the word light

Did anybody catch the Aurora Borealis light show this past week (or last May)? My son got a pretty good shot way down here in Southern Nevada.

New to the Q? Here’s what to do:
Write a poem of exactly 44 words (not counting the title), including some form of the word light. Post it to your own blog, and link up using the Mr. Linky below. Then make your way around to other poets’ posts to read and comment. The Q is open all week, so we’ll leave the light on for you. Be sure to come back and read (and write) some more!

For a little light inspiration…

You could be Blinded by the Light by Springstein

or say C’mon, Baby Light My Fire to The Doors

or simply See The Light (Tangled)

Happy writing! Happy lighting!
