Greetings, poets! De Jackson, aka WhimsyGizmo, de-lighted to be here to host Quadrille Monday, when we take to paper to pen featherlight poems of just 44 words, including one word we provide.
Today, let there be light.

Read the whole poem here.
Write about daylight, moonlight, sunlight, or starlight. Let lightning strike more than once. Leave your poem as a lighthouse for others to find their way back from sea. Write by candlelight, streetlight, or floodlight. You can take a lighthearted approach or light the page on fire.

Find more light poem inspiration here and here.
As a little light housekeeping, just remember to keep your lightweight poem exactly 44 words long, including some form of the word light.
Did anybody catch the Aurora Borealis light show this past week (or last May)? My son got a pretty good shot way down here in Southern Nevada.

New to the Q? Here’s what to do:
Write a poem of exactly 44 words (not counting the title), including some form of the word light. Post it to your own blog, and link up using the Mr. Linky below. Then make your way around to other poets’ posts to read and comment. The Q is open all week, so we’ll leave the light on for you. Be sure to come back and read (and write) some more!

For a little light inspiration…
You could be Blinded by the Light by Springstein
or say C’mon, Baby Light My Fire to The Doors
or simply See The Light (Tangled)
Happy writing! Happy lighting!
Helloooo, poets! Hope you’re ready to “lighten up” today and pen a poem! I’ve put out some light snacks, cocktails and mocktails. Enjoy, and happy writing!
Hi De. Thank you for hosting. Love the word and it is fitting today as in Canada, it is our Thanksgiving Day. I will be back in a bit, thanks!
Happy Thanksgiving, Grace! Thankful for YOU!
Thank you De. Thank you and to the team!!!!
De-lighted with today’s prompt!😉

HAPPY THANKSGIVING to all our CANADA dVersers!
And thank you De for hosting! LOVE “dancing by the light of the moon”!
October 14th is always a tough day for me to get through….and this year, as it did 11 years ago, it falls on a holiday in the US: Columbus Day/Indigenous Peoples’ Day. You’ll see why this is a day always marked in my calendar when you read my poem quadrille. The main things is, YES – there is LIGHT and LOVE and I am thankful for every day!
Love your piece, Lill. And your PEACE, all these years later. Each day a gift.
Hello De and All. Light is become an ever more precious commodity at this time of year. Let’s generate some with our poems. Just south of here, in Grand Haven, photographers have been sharing their photos of it on facebook. Truly magical!
Yes, I have loved all the photos I get to see! Still on my bucket list to see the Auroras someday.
De how much longer will they be going on? I might just have to take a drive tonight and see them.
I’m not sure, Lisa. I think they peaked a couple of nights ago, but maybe still visible in some areas? I know it’s important to get away from light pollution to see them, and usually the photos are better than the naked eye can actually see…
OK thanks, De.

Happy to see you here, Ain!
Hi Ain, I just wanted to let you know that I always read your poetry. I have trouble commenting. You write some amazing stuff.
My quadrille is available for something alcoholic!
You got it! Cheers!
Thank you for hosting, De. The light is so beautiful this time of year–until it starts getting dark even earlier!
Hi, Merril. Happy you’re here! I really wish our days were longer this time of year, and shorter in the summer. At least here in Southern Nevada, that would be divine!
I am SUCH a morning person. So now I wake up in the dark again, and by November I’ll feel like it’s bedtime at 4 PM. 😂
Thanks, De! Wishing you all a light-filled day…
Back at ya, Jennifer. Cheers!
Thanks for hosting and lighting the way tonight.
