Hello all,
It is time again to offer Open Link with a live option. If you want to join and read a poem (or just listen to other reading) follow this link on November 9 at 10 am New York time:
Video call link: https://meet.google.com/eqy-cexa-zyv
You are of course welcome to link up any one poem of your choice, and please take the opportunity to read and comment. I hope you will be pleasantly supprised with all the talented poets we gather each week. When you have written your poem link up with Mr Linky with a linke directly to your poem.
Have fun and enjoy!!
To help you and your muse I also offer an optional mini prompt, and as we often do it is a simple ekphrastic prompt.
John Bauer is one of the most loved artists and illustrators we have in Sweden. His style is truly unique, and his way of painting magic woods stands as a model how real forests should look like. The children stories he illustrated are often less known than the images, but I believe he often described the trolls more as societal outcasts than evil creature which is why my choice of picture was one of a troll mother and her child. John Bauer met an early death together with his wife and son on a boat accident on lake Vättern.

Good evening everyone, I am a little bit under the weather and will have to go to bed pretty soon. I have some freshly baked sourdough with hummus, olive oil and tomatoes. All the usual drinks are available.
Hi Bjorn the mini prompt was charming but I’d opted for a totally different take for OLN
Nothing from the bar as I’ve already eaten other than a hot chocolate as the nights are darker and cooler now here though you are ahead of us on the cold front
It is open link night, and any picture is ok.
Good evening poets and thanks for hosting, Björn. I’m sorry that you are feeling under the weather. I would love some freshly baked sourdough with hummus, olive oil and tomatoes – one of my favourite snacks. I hope to be at OLN Live on Saturday.
I hope to see you there… the reason for being under the weather is that I took vaccine against shingles yesterday.
I had shingles – you’ve done the right thing.
Thank you for hosting Björn. I am profoundly disappointed and saddened to my core. Losing touch with reality, honesty, and human decency, we here in the USA have failed quite dramatically and completely — and now we will pay, as fools must pay. 😞😡
Alas we will all pay, and most of all the women of Ukraine who will be doomed to be raped by the pals of mr Rump.
I’ve taken a break from errands. Do you have any ice cream behind the bar?
Of course we have ice cream
Hi Everyone, and thank you for hosting, Björn. I’m sorry you’re not feeling well. I will pass on your humus, since I’m about to make some here to have with my homemade bread, though perhaps I will taste your bread and olive oil. 😋
I am pleased you want to taste it … and good luck with your baking
Thank you. I made whole wheat bread a few days ago.
Thank you Bjorn for hosting this evening … in spite of being under the weather. What a trooper! I love hummus and sourdough and olive oil and tomatoes … so bring ’em on! With a glass of chablis, please. Actually I will do the honors, serve myself. You stay right where you are. In bed.
Good morning everyone! With the time zone change, it is often not possible to participate when the post is live. If you have some hummus and bread left, I would love it.
Oh, and take care.
I already feel better.
Great.
Good evening, poets!
Thanks for hosting, Bjorn. Just keep the Burgundy coming! 🤣
Burgundy is always available.
Hello everyone! I’m sharing an older poem – my overactive thyroid is stifling my muse….
Mine’s a zero alcohol beer!
Loved the poem
Thanks Bjorn!
Thank you for hosting Bjorn – all being well I’ll see you tomorrow.
I look forward to that
🙂
Thank you for hosting, Bjorn. This is an interesting picture. 🙂
I love those pictures by John Bauer
HI Bjorn, I’m late, but better late than never: https://roberta-writes.com/2024/11/10/roberta-writes-an-encounter-with-norwegian-trolls-for-dverse-open-link-night-373-poetry/
Late is also to write…
Thank you
