Hello all,
We need some happiness today, some bliss.
“Now a soft kiss – Aye, by that kiss, I vow an endless bliss.”
― John Keats
Today it’s time for our returning reason to celebrate short poetry. 44 words including the word bliss. Use it as a noun, or use it as a verb ar as an adjective. Bless me with your bliss.
Bring me bliss of love or skies and sea.
When you have written your poem, link it up on Mr Linky, read and comment. The prompt is open for a long time so come back and return.
I hope you will leave a comment below and take part in the discussion.
“The highest form of bliss is living with a certain degree of folly.”
― Erasmus
Happy Monday, happy Quadrille day. Come dance with me.
Just posted mine. I’ll visit all tomorrow morning as it’s well past midnight. Happy Quadrille day 🙂
Have a blissful sleep Sumana
I think I actually wrote a poem that isn’t completely confusing. 🙂
But I’m probably wrong. LOL.
Ha.. I think mine might be more confusing actually.
Thank you, Bjorn. Happy to be back in time for the Quadrille. We had work done in our kitchen that required emptying all cabinets and then putting it all back again. David being a gourmet cook….too much stuff. It is blissful to be almost back to normal.
Ha.. I can imagine all the mess of emptying your cabinets.
Happy quadrille Monday. Tonight I will post and run but I’ll be back tomorrow to read and comment. I hope this week has started well and if anyone has been affected by the floods in Texas, my thoughts are with you.
Good night Kim and see you tomorrow.
Thank you, Bjorn – I’m back already and will be reading and commenting before I have to go for an appointment. I’m looking forward to hosting this evening.
We have friends in Houston…as of yesterday their lights were still on (but water rising).
I’ve been following it all on the news and it is frightening what flooding does. I just hope it will soon be over. But the cleaning up will be long and soul-destroying for all of those affected. Let’s see how the Trump government handles this disaster.
I have more faith in the faith-based organizations…
Sheer bliss ~ I love the quadrille word Bjorn ~
Happy Monday to all ~
A thought we should have some happy poetry tonight… make it hard to write darkly.
BTW, like my Quadrille from two weeks ago, *I didn’t use the word*. Instead I tried to paint it!
Ha.. I thought that… a bit of cheating but for this time it goes.
Thanks! I seem to get yelled at a lot for doing this, LOL!!!
I will call you out next time… 🙂
Rebel! (I admire that Harrison-like quality.)
Hahaha! Thanks!!
I challenge you to do one that follow the rules… coming from you it would rebel the rebel which is even better.
OK, Rebel Rebel it is…
1 pound Red Désirée Bliss potatoes
1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
1 head garlic broken into cloves and peeled
Salt and freshly ground black pepper
1/4 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
2 tablespoons chopped parsley.
Oh bliss, oh bliss, oh bliss, oh bliss!
Oh yum!!
😃
Happy Monday everyone and thank you for hosting with such a lovely prompt tonight Björn! I have linked up my Q and will swing by to read in a moment :o)
I’m out on the trail… lots of bliss here.
Thanks for hosting, Bjorn! I’ve added one on Hurricane Harvey in Texas imagining what some might be experiencing there and trying to get the word “bliss” in through the backdoor.
That has to be a challenge… Harvey seems to be the opposite of bliss.
‘Tis a blissful Monday! Thank you for hosting this dance, Bjorn. I’ll have a Pinot Noir, generous pour, if you please.
I have a wonderful Romanee Conti… does that work?
Perfect!
Long drive back from Cornwall. Pooped. Did the ‘words’…might be me for the night. I’ll drop by tomorrow.
Nice to have you here Paul, have a great sleep.
Hail one and all! All hail that we’ve made it through another Monday. Björn! A beer, sir! The best Sweden has to offer, if you please! Great prompt!
Sorry the bartender fell asleep.hope you found yourself a great ale anyway,
A stout of pleasing charm. I left a tip anyway! 🙂
Hi All! I just got through lifting my last batch of tomatoes from the canner. Now I have posted my Haibun….Good to see everyone.
Tomatoes are bliss. Sounds wonderful for winter.
and for spring until the fresh ones start coming in. I also make salsa and a green tomato relish that I can. Yummy stuff.
Hello, again! Hope everyone is doing great with a super start to the new week. Thanks for hosting the Quadrille, Bjorn!
Hosting a quadrille is pure bliss
Thanks for hosting Bjorn. Nice collection of quadrilles tonight. Put mine on the bar too. Cheers.
Great to have yours here Peter.
Helloooooo. Happy to be here! And thankful for a teased muse. Awesome word, B.
If bliss can tease
It’s an easy muse
Hello Bjorn and all you blissful poets! Having just celebrated our 34th anniversary, I thought of the phrase “wedded bliss” so…my poem was supposed to be heart-shaped but it looks like a carrot 😀
😛 After 34years, carrots it is!
Ha, ha! Yes 🥕🥕
Congrats !!!!!
Thanks, Grace! We enjoyed our weekend camping together.
I will need to leave for work, I will be back later and read more.
Congrats! What bliss!
🙂
Thanks for the lighthearted prompt Bjorn.
Looking forward to some blissful reading.
Yes we need the simple joyful things sometimes.
Thank you for the challenge – I’ll be back tomorrow morning & evening to visit and comment…
Great to see you Margaret… these simple prompts are great.
Bliss, something which comes in many forms, although often not recognised.
You are right… we often do not have the “time” to recognize it.
The perfect prompt to spark a blissful lunch-break write. Thanks for this bliss, Bjorn.
Lunch can be bliss actually…
Especially when one is blissfully blissing over a blissful poem.
just what the doctor ordered! can manage 44 words one-handed – just a little slower and catching up later with others
Writing short is one way to handle your restrictions Laura, glad that you can handle 44 words.
I guess I missed the moment of bliss, but here I am with my 44 words.
Thanks for hosting, Bjorn. I wasn’t expecting what came out of this for me, but I like it.
