Who Has Seen the Wind?
by Christina Rossetti

Who has seen the wind?
Neither I nor you:
But when the leaves hang trembling,
The wind is passing through.

Who has seen the wind?
Neither you nor I:
But when the trees bow down their heads,
The wind is passing by.

Poem Source

Only about 5% of the universe is visible matter. There are many things that we cannot see but that exist nonetheless.  Dark matter, radio waves, emotions, gravity, magnetism, love, time, thoughts. There are magical things that we cannot see, yet we believe they exist, like souls and the realm of spirits and fairies.

Welcome to Poetics, my friends!   I am Jilly, your host for this edition of Poetics. Imagine with me now that you can see those unseen things.  Let your poetic muse (another of those unseen things) inspire your writing.  What would you discover if you could see time, the workings of angels, or a child’s imagination?  Consider the things whose existence is certain but that we cannot see.

Write a poem that explores what you would see and experience.
