C. S. Lewis, can't wait to read, claudia schoenfeld, J. R. R. Tolkien, online poetry, poetry sharing, poetry that moves us, poetry that shows us the world and more
Most of you know that I love to travel.
But not only do I love journeying through our real world (cause even though I’ve been traveling quite a lot, it wouldn’t be enough at all)
I also like to board these ships and planes to fantasy worlds.
Two of my fav authors are C. S. Lewis and J. R. R. Tolkien who created fantasy worlds where I really feel at home in and that I find tremendously exciting and rewarding to discover.
And then of course, I love traveling through the poetic landscape.
What fantastic and colorful places poetry can take us to..
It sometimes is a journey to fantasia, harsh reality, into the folds of a poet’s soul and mind or a trip towards our own emotional landscape on rails and roads, we didn’t see before.
So I’m thankful for every single poet who shows up here tonight and shares a bit of their journey, allows us a glimpse into their life and gives us the opportunity to travel a few miles into unknown territory and the magical world of verse.
If you’re here for the first time, let me explain how it works..
- Write a poem and post it to your webpage or blog, include a link to dVerse Poets so others can join in
- Click on the Mr. Linky button below and enter the direct URL or web address to your poem as well as your name
- Visit others that you see on the list
- Use the social media of your choice to promote yourself, other poets and OpenLinkNight
- Enjoy, I think we have some of the most amazing poets that link in here & some pretty cool people as well.
Woohoo, Happy open link night, my favorite part of the week!
smiles…welcome to the party…and happy birthday!!
I enjoy seeing the world through your eyes too Claudia 🙂 You describe it all so well.
Have a great night all.
happy OLN bren…enjoyed flying with you..
smiles….i grew up on fantasy worlds….reading was my escape from reality…in particularly stories of adventure and dragons….smiles….happy OLN everyone…at school still but popped on real quick to say hi…
see you out on the trail here in a bit…smiles.
smiles..reading is still my escape from reality at times..
Claudia, going to meet you in Rio today then perhaps! Thanks for hosting and bringing us along with you today!
ha..Rio sounds great!!
Always enjoy the journey w. you, Claudia! Cheers!
thanks jackie..always good to see you in the pub
I also love the world of literary fantasia. It makes washing laundry and dishes a bit more bearable. 🙂
haha…so true..
Sorry but I think I may have linked up twice by accident! Oops. Linking up a little something I wrote today as a random act of kindness, enjoy. See you all out there, thanks Claudia 🙂
ha…we may find a faun or fairy who can fix that for you…smiles
Reality, as they say, is highly over rated. Greetings all!
cheers to that!
Always great intros Claudia – and apt today for me. I finally got a chance to write the poem for the pictures you posted on Poetics on 11/17. It was a dream I had that night traveling with my long deceased husband – and the dream kept morphing. I made notes and didn’t get the poem written until yesterday. That’s how my life is lately. So it’s a kind of traveling poem too. Hope you like it.
yes, i liked it a lot gay…
Can’t believe it’s already Tuesday. I always look forward to OLN.
Maybe I can live vicariously through you, Claudia…
smiles… i just started to read…around the world in 80 days…
an old tired monk just wandered into the pub – pour ’em a tall one
here you go…cheers!
I’ve been known to escape to the wardrobe to write….and I do tend to fancy dragons…Happy Birthday Kelly! Loved your words this week 🙂 And of course, a happy OpenLinkNight to everyone
writing in the wardrobe sounds terribly romantic to me…have to try this..smiles
Hi, everyone … yes, Tuesday has become a favorite of mine, too!
happy OLN marilyn
Looking forward to the poetic landscape today…happy tuesday 🙂
happy tuesday jenny!
Happy Open link night all,
Always a pleasure to have a drink with kind friends and read their poems!
yes!!
Thanks as always for this wonderful forum. I hope my latest limerick and Limerick-Off brighten your day. 🙂 Bright Limerick
what would the OLN trail be without your limericks madeleine…and you encouraging us to try our hands on one as well
Me too, though I can’t be here each week–it is my favorite “perusal” places. Gotta go read some of the “goodies” now!!!
haha…perusal sounds very positive when you say it steve
This is my first time participating, so I’m not quite sure that I got it right. I’ve clicked on the link and submitted my latest blog post poem. But does it have to be on a particular topic? Perhaps something to do with travelling? Or am I overinterpreting here?
you got it perfectly right…went already over to your place to read and comment…what a lovely, multi-layered piece you brought to the table
Wow, that was easy! Maybe it’s time I got more active in this community, instead of just admiring from afar.
i’m glad you linked up…feel free to plunge in head on and visit others as well…a great opportunity to meet some amazing poets and people
smiles…glad you jumped in marina! welcome to dverse….
Glad to make it back to OLN and into the pub. I could use a drink and a poem. Happy reading and writing everyone!
drinks and poems…you’ll find both in abundance…cheers
Love being here and can link tonight! (Usually at work and can’t link until Wednesday morning). Thanks Claudia.
Anna :o]

Ten lovely days – only three more to go. Am enjoying!
Anna :o]

oh wow anna i am a bit jealous….but i have 3.5 weeks til my 2 week break so i am striving forward….
Oh God! I would like to go anywhere right now!
Posted “The Fox” a true story/poem that happened a few weeks ago. It’s an ecological statement masquerading as a poem…but so be it.
I had a lot of fun visiting sites last week, and will do it again today and tomorrow.. This pub has a ton of fine poets! What a joy to be part of this tribe! But you only know when you put your sandals on and venture out.
Lady Nyo
i agree…secretly i call it the treasure trail…pssshh
Sorry for my poem tonight.
smiles..you never should apologize for peppermint kisses…just saying…smiles
I know but it’s a felt poem and I nearly didn’t publish it.

I know, Brian, thanks.
Good evening to all…
good evening…great to see you!!
Lovely intro, Claudia. I honestly didn’t think I’d have anything for tonight, but at the last minute, my mind went on one of those journeys to fantasia you mention,,.so I’m a bit LTTP, but I’m here. Will be back tonight to read.
so good to see you hedge…on my way over…always love when you lure us on those mystic trails..
Thanks for hosting, Claudia. I wrote about a wedding I attended Saturday evening, three things that were very different for me – it was at night, they used a gold and crystal lasso to join the couple (I have heard of this, but never witnessed it before), and a teenage girl sang Ave Maria at the closing of the ceremony. All in all, it was a very touching experience and begged to be written about. Looking forward to reading others. Happy Open Link to all.
Pamela
wow..sounds interesting..have never heard about that lasso tradition…love that a teenage girl sang ave maria…
a travel prompt, perfect 😉 should be some interesting poems, thanks claudia 😉
it sounds like you’re enjoying your time in paris a lot… hope it doesn’t rain as much as it does here at the moment…
Enjoying being a part of tonight’s Open Link Night at dVerse!
This sassy little poem, Color, was submitted on the TweetSpeak’s Every Day Poems poetry prompt on Facebook and for the November Surrealism Poetry Prompt on TweetSpeak Poetry, offered by Seth Haines. And of course is submitted to Open Link Night here at dVerse Poets. http://www.robbiepruitt.com/2012/11/color.html

Hope you really keep enjoying your travel, Claudia.

Beautiful, Claudia. I love the worlds we travel through this community. Thanks for inviting us aboard.
so awesome how far you can get on a tuesday evening while sitting physically in a small, rainy town somewhere close to the swiss border…smiles
Or in a rainy November morning in the Sierra Nevada!
Hey y’all! Throwin a little tongue-in-cheeker at ya today. Enjoy!

alright poets…off to catch my breath and eat dinner with the fam….be back in a bit for some more….smiles….
I think I am late for this but better late than never.
shoot not late at all we are just getting started….6 hours in and 27 to go…
With 29 hours left on Mr. Linky timer, I decided to but up a fun one with a poll. (perhaps unorthodox and uncontrolled , but potentially informative in the not so obvious ways.)
I do love the chance that poetry allows us each to explore the geography of other minds. Like countries I have visited I am both amazed at our similarities and differences. And when traveling, I have always found it better to ask than assume.
found it…be right over…
Hi claudia, I was out and about today during link up, found a house with an unsecured wireless connection and stopped at their curb to make the link! I am so glad they didn’t come out to see what I was doing. I’m here now and looking forward to some wonderful poetry to go with my cup of tea. Happy OLN.
haha rain nor sleet nor no internet connection…smiles…i have mooched a neighbor before myself so dont feel too bad beth….smiles.
haha…the need for an internet connection makes us behave like in a spy film sometimes…love this…probably they thought they’re under observation…
I am thankful for you, Claudia, and your enthusiastic journeys! (I am writing a novel from the POV of a performance art character I created long ago whose name is Alice, and the working title is “Alice in Wonder.” Now my Monday night Writers Group thinks I am channeling Lewis Carrol! but I think the voice is much closer to Salman Rushdie’s Haroun–or my own.) I posted the Semaphore Acrostic I missed posting this weekend: “Thankfulness: an acrostic.
alice in wonder with a voice close to Salman Rushdie’s ..now that sounds interesting… and nice on another acrostic
Ooops, did my comment get put in spam?
will check it for you…
Claudia, what a lovely post! I am a bit under the gun in all areas of life at the moment, but was able to substantially re-write an older poem that I am quite sure no one’s seen. I’m trying to work on nanowrimo too, but my work life has asserted itself (job work) very strongly, and I really have to just focus on what I can do and gives immediate sustenance, on the creative side. (Agh.) I have been a bit slow getting back to people but hope to give it something of a whirl, and I certainly will get back in the coming days., if slowly. k.
take your time k… hope life gets a bit smoother soon
Joining today’s poetic journey with a slice of Turkey and a taste of history…

I’m new here. I’ve read some of your poetry, Claudia — fabulous. And some of Marina Sofias, who got me here. Hope I did this right.
welcome terri…you did it perfectly right…and thank you…smiles
thanks for the host Claudia. As usual great showing, read a good bit tonight, lots of outstanding shares as is the norm. Can’t wait to dig on in some more tomorrow.
Haven’t visited this place in a long, long time – around 6 months or so. I hope I can stay this time. I hope you guys like the poem…
Cheers,
Arnab
I’m very late to the pub this week. Just couldn’t make this poem say what I wanted. Having done the sensible thing and slept on it, I’m now happy with the result.
Only you can decide if my wait was worth it. Here’s the link: http://bit.ly/GBdjLk
Kind regards to all at dVerse. James.
good morning poets….coffee in hand i am jumping in the overnite poetry stream…..have a great day!
I’ll be back on the trail in a bit…just need a bite to eat…i’m starving…
